Does your daycare do anything for Valentine's Day?
DS is 26 months, but this is the first V-Day he's been in daycare.
Ours has Friendship Day on the calendar for the 14th but if they are having a party or expecting us to bring in cards or treats, they haven't communicated anything yet (which seems to be par for the course with them).

Not official, but last year we got three vday cards. This year I am handing them out because I don't want to be deamed the slacker. I just bought some on etsy.

Each class has a party, I'm not sure what that entails for the 1 & under group.
M is in a 2 year old room, for the week of Valentine's Day their newsletter says: -Read Valentine's books -Valentine's crafts -Class party -Exchange Valentines (optional)
ETA: His teachers are getting cards & cupcakes from a local bakery. (Should I give them each 1 or 2 cupcakes? If I do two I would give one white & one chocolate)
M is giving his class "Have a Ball" Valentines & bouncy balls similar to these:
Yes. We got a note last Friday telling us to send our child(ren) in red, white, and pink on February 14th. In the morning they will have Valentine’s Day activities and a Sweetheart Dance. Each classroom will then have a little time to exchange Valentine cards. Each room will prepare Valentine bags for the children to carry their cards in.
They are also doing a pink lunch. It will be pink ham, pink mashed potatoes, and pink applesauce.
C is having a friendship party on valentines day at mdo. I made her valentines but they are really simple and I only had to buy bubbles (party favor size) so they are just as cheap as store bought and take about the same amount if time to put together.
They gave us the info (cards to pass are welcome, don't address the "to:", # of kids) yesterday.
they're having a party friday, but DS won't be there since he's only T-Th. from the looks of it everyone is asked to bring food-i saw the list yesterday and it's all cookies, cupcakes, etc.

I wouldn't think ours does anything official. Treats aren't allowed to be brought in at any time. Last year he was still in the toddler room and we didn't get any Valentine's. I'm not sure what they do on the Pre-school side. I should probably ask what everyone else is doing so my kid isn't the only one not handing out cards.

Yes, they have a party. There's a sign up sheet on the door with a list of snacks that parents can sign up to bring and the kids were sent home with a list of names for the kids in their class. I usually buy a box of valentines at Target for $3, throw in a pencil or a piece of candy, and call it a day.
DS' class is having a party. We're supposed to decorate a box at home for valentines to go in at school, plus do valentines for all the kids (not addressed so the kids can hand them out easier). We are allowed to include treats, food or otherwise, with them, but no homemade treats.
The room mom for my 9 month old's class sent an email instructing us to "make something cute from Pinterest." I am annoyed at the mandated creativity.
That's super annoying. WTF are you supposed to create for a 9 month old that doesn't give 2 shits about Valentine's Day anyway?
Want to make the same ones as me? Pinteresty but very simple and cheap if you already have cardstock and a printer. Honestly, they were just as easy as tearing apart the cards, signing them, and putting them in the envelopes like you have to do for store cards. I copied the file into word and put DD's name on it in there.
Oh, geeze.....there will be some parents who will do Valentines in the infant room!
I refused.....this will be the first year for my son to do V-Day cards. He is almost 4 and his class is full of 3-6 year olds. The teacher asked that we supply 30 cards addressed "to my friend" with no treats. At our old daycare last year, DS came home with so much candy -- I was pissed!
They are having a party and according to the February newsletter I got Monday, exchanging Valentines. I had not expected them to be exchanging valentines so now I have to plan something because I don't want to be the slacker that does nothing.
