After slacking this winter I've been running a winter trail race series through the local running club. I'm having so much fun!! I love to hike but I've never done any kind of trail running (and these are true single track cross county trails. One even had a bunch of floating docks pieced together that you had to jump on to get through the marsh). I've been much slower than normal but I love having the trails marked and running with a group. They also allow dogs in the races so I'm planning on bringing my little border collie mix with me to the next one. I took her to the trail with the floating docks to see if she would be okay with obstacles and she ran through them like a champ. I get nervous joining in new groups and small races (afraid I would be dead last and get lost in the woods lol) but I'm really happy that I got over my fears.

Yay! I've only done a few single track trail races, but have always enjoyed them. It can be nice to break up the road races. And good for you for getting over your fear
