How is everyone today?  Anything exciting planned for Valentine's Day?

QOTD:  What color are your favorite pair of shoes?

Morning. I'm up late watching Olympic coverage. Replays on my TV and live stuff on my iPad.

Today I need to work on some stuff for my portfolio. I would also like to paint my nails. And more Olympics later of course!!

QOTD: My favorite shoes are red. They are not super fashionable but they were perfect teaching shoes. They are a red flat with cross straps.

Morning. DS and I got sick again this week. That's 4 times in 1 month! But thank goodness this one passed quickly. Back at work today. No plans for Valentine's Day, doubt DH even knows it's coming. Maybe I'll stay up past 8:00 and we can actually watch a movie together!

QOTD: I actually don't have a favorite pair...I switch it up most days. But that's after a few years of really being picky with shoe purchases. They have to be comfortable but still cute. I can't walk/stand in a bad pair of shoes.

It's been a good day! We finally got an apartment for our move in two weeks. I was starting to worry because it was getting really close. Now we just have to deal with the lovely landlord in our current apartment. He's saying that parts of the floor need replacing and we need to pay for it. Sorry, but it's normal wear and tear and it was old when we moved in. I'm starting to worry that we won't get any of our security deposit back. I've been doing a lot of reading and we are a member of the renters' association, so they can help us. Apparently this is a common problem with landlords here. This isn't the first time he's tried to get money from us.

For V-day my husband will be back in Frankfurt. I'm just going to make a shrimp risotto that night. We have a really busy weekend, so I'm not sure if we will have time to go out for a nice dinner.

Good afternoon! I had coffee with a friend from my former work place this morning and then did some grocery shopping. I just had lunch and will have to go to physical therapy in less than an hour. I need to read some policy documents today and tutor in the afternoon.

For V-day I am going back and forth between eating at our favorite neighborhood French restaurant or cooking something nice myself. I'm undecided.

I've been working on a paper, doing laundry, taking care of the dog and entertaining myself. Overall a good day.

QOTD: right now I wear either my black boots or my brown boots...and I like them both for different reasons. My favourite overall pair of shoes would be my flip-flops because it means I'm in warm/hot weather.

QOTD: Most of my shoes these days are either black or brown, not too exciting. Eventually that may change. I like wearing nude tones as well, like nude heels.

Good morning. It's Wednesday now, but I'll answer my own questions.

Tuesday was my first ever day experiencing smoke haze. It was interesting looking out and seeing a sky that looks like rain, but feeling nothing like rain. And I've been a bit worried by the smoky smell. Fire is one of my biggest fears, so I'm on edge by the smoke being close enough to blow over.

We decided to do a low-key Valentine's Day, so I am making DH a special request dinner and we're having a quite night in with the Olympics.

QOTD: My favorite pair of shoes are a pair of pink & white gingham print mules. I can't walk in them without making the flip-flip noise, so they were banned from my office in New Orleans, but I carefully watched them in the store for months until they went on sale for $30 (down from $120) and I felt so excited finally get them. I've had no occasions to wear them since I moved, but I just cant get rid of them. The "shoes" I wear most often are pink as well, a pair of satin Isotoner slippers.
