I work with a registered dietitian, and I eat a 'lower' carb diet, but not necessarily something that's considered 'low carb'. I shoot for 180g of carbs per day, or about 45% of my food for the day. I try to get most of my carbs from fruits and vegetables rather than bread/rice/pasta, etc. I do eat a bowl of oatmeal most mornings.

We eat Sonoma Diet, which is lower carb and utilizes only "good" carbs - whole grains, fruits, dairy ... and no refined carbs - white sugar, potatoes, white flour.
However, I don't actually count the carbs. I just do a prescribed plate portion and that's it.
What I do is look at protein, fat, and overall calories. I keep my protein between 116-145 grams, and my fat between 52-116 grams (this is based on my lean body mass). I also keep my calorie averages to around 1550 calories. And then I eat however many carbs fit in. It averages to 75g of carbs per day.
I love it. I'm not hungry, I eat fantastic high-quality food, and I still have room for the occasional treat.
I've been doing the Dukan diet since the end of January and it's very low carb. I don't track what I eat (you don't have to with Dukan) so I'm not sure how many carbs I do take in, but it's only in the skim milk and vegetables I eat.

I have been doing a modified Atkins. I aim for 20crbs or less per day the first couple weeks. Only from veggies and cheese. I have lost 8lbs in 3 weeks and that includes a couple cheat meals for special occasions. DH an I have always done low carb but I stopped since pg with my older son bit has been almost 6 yes since I did it and I was so worried I couldn't bc of the kids food but it's been so easy for me to resist! In shocked.
