Where is a good place to get a beginner workout plan. I am currently just running and taking a zumba class, but I know I need to mix in a few toning workouts. I prefer not to use a lot of equipment and would like to have the option to do the workouts at home.
Barre! You can buy DVDs online. I love BarMethod and Ballet Beautiful. While not easy, by any means, it's total body conditioning that is totally adaptable to your fitness level. You don't need any special equipment. Some moves in BarMethod use light hand weights, you don't need them (especially not at first). These workouts are great because they are done in segments and you can easily split them up, do some or all of them. I love the flexibility. The result from barre is like none other. It really works! And you'll feel changes almost immediately. Can't rave enough.
For toning work at home, I have several Jillian Michaels DVDs that I use and just bought a barre DVD (still waiting on it to be delivered). There are a ton of "body weight exercise" ideas on Pinterest too.
There's also a Bikini Body Mommy workout on Facebook. You don't have to be a mom, but it's developed by a woman who got back into shape after 3 kids. It's very basic calesthenics/moves, and you can easily modify (e.g. wall or knee pushups if you can't do full ones). It balances strength and cardio, and the workouts are short enough that it feels very realistic; it's the one that finally got my tush back in gear and ready for 5Ks and TurboFire.
