Just got my MRI results - I have multiple stress fractures on my pubic bone/pelvis. Doctor says this should heal quickly but no running until beginning of March.
I already feel like such a lump and pants are tight. I guess the good news is I can still Cross Fit just nothing that will pound my pelvis, haha.
Those that have had stress fractures - how did you get through it? Did anything other than just rest help?
I have never had stress fractures before but ugh that sucks!! ((hugs)) I have heard lots of rest is one of the best ways to get over a stress fracture.
Oh no! I'm sorry. Look at the bright side, even though it really sucks, that's actually a better diagnosis than something chronic like a tendonitits. Speedy healing vibes to you!
Oh, I am so sorry! I feel awful for you. How badly does it hurt?
I've only had 1 stress fracture and it was in 2007 when I was training for a marathon. It was in my foot and hurt like the dickens. I walked away from running for 3 years after that.
Can you swim while you are healing? Hang in there.
My stress fracture was in my leg, the back of my tibia. I talked to my doc about what else i could do, and didmthose things. Lots of spin, swimming and rowing. I couldnt run for 6 weeks, and then had to start from scratch, no speed work for a YEAR, but i was able to run a marathon last fall, and i didnt really lose much endurance. My sr told me i could race 5ks and 10ks last fall, and my 5k time wasnt too far off from pr. Im taking things slowly and conservatively so i dont reinjure. It sucks, notmgoing to lie, but things could be worse. Youll get through it! Listen to your dr!!!
Also' one good thing - my injury was the exact same time of year last year - at least you cant run during the shitty winter weather, youll be back at it as soon as the weather warms up! Better to be out of commission now than in the spring! At least, thats what i kept telling myself!
