I don't love spaghetti straps on baby girls (prefer a thicker strap for sundresses and tanks), but I'm more offended by sexy slogans on t-shirts/onesies or, god forbid, plastered across the butt. Gross.

Ehh they don't bother me, as seen in previous posters pics, I don't think they actually sexualize anything on a baby. It's harmless and as long as it fits properly and stays up I don't mind.

I actually preferred spaghetti straps or sleeveless shirts, since Nods had a farmer's tan last summer. I think I will care more about her clothes when she is closer to being a teen.

I did use sunscreen, but forget on occasion.

This. I try to dress my daughter modestly, but spaghetti straps don't bother me as long as they don't slip down the shoulders and cause the front of the top to slide down her chest.

I have the same reaction in stores/catalogs, but when I see them on actual babies they don't bother me. I have a hard time visualizing them on babies, so in my head, they look different and questionable. I think they are more of an issue for older girls and pre-teens.
Someone in my FB group posted a picture of her baby in a pink tutu but no top. It was a posed studio shot, not a candid. I wasn't a fan of that.

I dont mind spaghetti straps, but I get prudish when it also has a v-neck and the little seam underneath the bust. Little girls have no bust- the seam isn't necessary for the fit, just to be feminine or emphasize the chest, and I think that's a little weird.

I will say I'd rather put my kid in the above mentioned shirt than any piece of childs clothing that says "heartbreaker" or "most eligible bachelor" or whatever. Ugh. And there's a ton of it out right now with V-day and all.

It's from Toddlers & Tiaras.  Some mom defended her decision to dress her kid up as Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman in a kid's pageant.  When I saw this thread it reminded me that dressing your kid in spaghetti straps doesn't make them look like a hooker, dressing your kid as a hooker makes them look like a hooker.

I think they look cute. And I don't mind bikinis either (though as other's have pointed out I don't think triangle ones are appropriate). Ask me again when DD is out of onesies and there isn't 12 inches of snow on the ground.
