So this week I went to a local consignment sale and today my mom and I stopped in a Once Upon a Child.
Someone please explain why baby girls clothes have spaghetti straps? I saw several cute outfits, but I just can't stomach putting E in a strappy top this summer just over the age of 1.
Maybe I'm being too picky? DH said he wasn't a fan of it either. I don't have a problem with tank tops, but can't the clothing makers stick to the 2 finger rule?

They don't bother me prude-wise, although I will say I dislike bikinis for little babies/girls. I wouldn't buy strappy stuff because I wouldn't want to deal with needing to apply that much more sunblock.

I feel like they show way less in most outfits then people think they would. DD1 wore thicker strap outfits that showed more of her shoulders and back then some spaghetti strap outfits.
Spaghetti straps only bother me if they don't stay up. We have some that are great and then a couple others that slide all over the place causing the neck to dip down too. I'm not OK with that.
I'm not a fan. I can count on one hand the times my dd has worn spaghetti straps and those were usually the result of gifts.
Me too. I bought DD some cute shirts with spaghetti straps and she only wore one of them once...I just didn't like how exposed she looked. I'm cool with regular sleeveless shirts.
Meh. I am a big fan of pillowcase dresses, which by nature have spaghetti straps. They tie at the shoulder and have a high neck, so they don't slip and it is NBD to me.
Bikinis for kids seem silly from a sunscreen standpoint, but again, unless they are triangle bikinis, I think they are ok for me. I understand that is not for everyone and in the interest of full disclosure, I don't own anything other than one pieces and rash guards for Caramini, but. I wouldn't look twice at a cute toddler in a 2 piece at the beach or pool.

I don't mind them on little girls, there are many cute ones, but one thing to consider, if your kid has a smaller frame, is they fall off constantly. DD has never been able to keep them on because her shoulders are very narrow The exception are the pillow case dresses, like Hanna Anderson makes, where the straps are close to the neck.

This is my exact point of view except I have a boy.
I'm not fan, but only because I'm a lazy parent. I keep their shoulders covered in the summer so I don't have to apply sunscreen. I also make DD wear a rash guard to the pool or beach.

I don't like spaghetti straps for girls, especially for onesies. I just think they look dumb.
But baby bikinis don't bother me at all, really. A guess I would clutch my pearls about a triangle top, but a regular two piece? Whatever. I think being a lifelong Floridian has made me very lax about bathing suits in general though.
Lol hypocrite party of 1, my mom is supposed to make E a pillowcase dress for her bday.
I totally didn't even think of those.
My daughter wore a long sleeved t-shirt under her pillowcase dress for her first birthday and it still looked really cute! But you can also tighten it enough that there is no space between the two pieces if you end up bothered by it!
Add this to the list of things that I've never even considered about bothering me. I think dd1 has some dresses with spaghetti staps, but they all have a high neck. Their shoulders are like 2 inches long. I don't know why it would matter if they're covered by 1/2 in or 1.5 in.
