Happy belated birthday starry!
Ds1 has been getting up between 5-6 and coming into our room each morning. Except he doesn't fall back asleep. He flails around and then I eventually get up angry. Especially since the baby started crying at 4:30 and then went back to sleep (still sleeping at 7) but I wasn't able to go back to sleep. Ugh.
At least we're going out to breakfast this morning!
AJ and I are having lunch with a friend at Panera at 11, so I just put him down for what will hopefully be a power nap...he's definitely tired so hopefully he takes the opportunity to sleep for a bit. I'm bringing a variety of toys and his teether anyway, and will be dosing His Toothiness up with Tylenol again before we go. It figures, he shows zero signs of a tooth actually popping through then bam! One tooth yesterday and one more on the verge. poor guy
Last night dd1 chose to feed her pork chop to the dog, so she didn't get the cake we were having for dessert. I told her we could try again today. She paid us back by waking at 6 on the dot and started chanting "now I can have some cake, mommy!" Ever 30 seconds. For an hour. Lol. We had cake for breakfast.
Now I'm headed out for a glorious afternoon of shopping all by myself.

DH is in bed recovering from his sinus surgery. M & I have been up since 5:30, we're alternating between watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse & cleaning/organizing/playing.

I can see J doing crap like this in the future. I am seriously considering getting a tv in our room (which we were always against) so if she wakes up early on the weekends she can watch cartoons while we sleep. POTY.
DO IT.
C was up at 6:15. Mickey and Yo Gabba Gabba bought us until 7:15.
I just visited 3 stores to try and find a sled. No luck. According to the lady at Target, "we don't have sleds because it's spring. That's why you can buy bathing suits and pool toys."
Tell that to the foot of snow in my backyard lady!

I've watched six episodes of Ghost Whisperer this morning on Netflix. I know I'm several years behind, and it's so cheesy, but I love this show. I thought there were only two seasons, so I thought I had already finished it.
DH ran out to get breakfast. We need to finish packing to move next weekend. We may have already packed most of the dishes. Crockpot dinners all week long!
we don't have enough neocate to get us through today and it's not something I can just go out and buy. I called the 2 pharmacies around me that neocate says sells it and they don't have any. I was willing to pay the $40/can and I can't!
the gi gave me codes for a free case and can and I ordered them last Monday. they were supposed to be here wed and I assume got delayed because of the snow and they aren't here.
I've made 1/2 neocate 1/2 alimentum bottles for today and tomorrow am. I'm not happy about this. she's like a whole new baby on neocate.
I'm really hoping the dr is open tomorrow to give me a can (they said they would if we ran out) and I am going to insist they put it through ins now instead of waiting until Thursday.
My mom finally made new pillows for our furniture after I gave her all the stuff and I love them! They really brighten them up. Even DH said they were an improvement. Now just to find new smaller pillows that coordinate for the couch.
It only took DH 3 days to finally vacuum. I've asked him to do it since Friday night after E went to bed. I've been doing laundry, organizing, etc and all I asked him to do was vacuum the first floor so our child isn't crawling around all the dog fur and dirt. And yet, he won't let me hire a cleaning person. Tomorrow during E's naps I have to clean the bathrooms, fun times.
H's family is having a bowling gathering today at 1:00, but H works until 2:00 and has to meet us there. I'm really not looking forward to my MIL today because I've been sort of "bitch eating crackers" about her since she cancelled on me last weekend.

Someone replaced my kid with a monkey. Yesterday he learned to climb on the couch, ride his ride on toys, stand on his ride on toys (eeek), climb on kitchen chairs and launch himself back and forth over his parents legs. When he finally learns something he just goes to town!
DD2 is sick with a fever and I feel so bad for her. She is so cuddly and quiet and sleepy. I would almost think she has the flu but she got her flu shot. I know you can still get it even if you got your shot but it's so sad to watch her sick. But this week she finally learned to say Mama, at 20 months old, and it melts my heart every time she says it.
I'm now treating myself to Olive Garden for lunch alone. Ha! It's kind of a treat. At least I'm not having to feed anybody. I'm using up a gc from Christmas before last.

DD is finally starting to feel better from the colon biopsies she had on Friday. Poor thing still thinks she needs to poop every 20 min though even though she's barely eaten since.
MIL called and left a VM that she was on her way to get the kids. At 10am. Not, "can I come get the kids?" The original plan was that she might get them later tonight if DD was feeling better. The audacity of this is really ticking me off.
I hope the rest of my day goes as-planned. DS is down for his nap, I'm leaving for yoga momentarily. When I get home, I'm going to dress up and go on a date with DH to a very fancy restaurant. This was supposed to be celebrating the launch of his new business, but a week after launching he has no paid users yet :-( fingers crossed he gets one soon! I feel like all his self-esteem is riding on this.
I'm having a "I don't know what I'm doing" phase. Yesterday J was up at 7, ate, slept a bit in the car seat when my dad and I went to breakfast, ate, napped on me from 9:30 to 12:30, ate and then was essentially up until 7pm with a couple 20 minute-ish catnaps. Should he be sleeping more than that? Maybe it's my fault for not swaddling him up and making him nap. The past couple days he's been falling asleep when I put him in the bouncer but not yesterday. Today we were up at 8 then napped from 9-10:30 then he was up until about 12:30 and he's sleeping with H now, but needs to eat. And he's still getting up every 2-3 hours at night to eat. I really don't know what I'm doing
We went out to dinner for my birthday yesteday (a week late), went to target after which was awesome. The sitterr said ds was "the perfect baby" and went right to sleep for her. Then ds slept until 6:20 this morning, which is a good hour later than usual for him. Dh just left with ds to go cross country skiing, so i have the house to myself for a bit. Then i am going shopping for new work clothes this afternoon, alone. Dh has tomorrow off, and i start my job on tuesday. This weekend is awesome.

This sounds pretty normal for a 6 week old. Definitely swaddle for naps if you think it would help. Was he unhappy and overtired? A fair amount of ladies here have had babies who rarely took long naps and all is well.
Getting up every 2-3 hours to eat - sucks but normal at that age.
He seemed pretty happy, he wasn't fussing at all unless it was food time. I still don't really know his tired cues but I don't think he seemed tired. He generally sleeps from 7-7 with wake-ups so I guess he seems to be getting most of his sleep at night? Most of the stuff I've read said they should be sleeping about 15 hours a day so I guess that seems right. I just don't know what to do with him when he's awake! Your response is reassuring though, so thanks.
I'm having a hard time too because H has been sleeping most of the day the past few days because he is feeling off and then he's at work all night. It's starting to get to me.
I think I'm getting my first pp. DS is EBF & only 6 weeks old so I thought I had a little longer while before getting it
On the plus side he isn't cluster feeding quite as much so maybe the growth spurt is almost done.
If it helps at all, I had some bleeding around 7 weeks pp that I was convinced was my period starting again. It hung around for a week and hasn't been back since. So theres hope!
AJ and I just got back from lunch...he was an absolute rock star the whole 2+ hours we were at Panera and flirted with anyone that looked at him, and didn't melt down until I put him in the car seat when it was time to go (he was tiiiiiired). But he fell asleep on the way home, nursed, and is now making noise in his crib. Go to sleep, buddy!

Happy (belated) birthday starry!
I don't know if he was sick or had a bad dream, but DS woke up in the weirdest mood. He usually is so talkative and full of energy, but he just clung to me or h and came back to bed with us for about a hour. He was pitiful, but we enjoyed the extra snuggles at first. H ended up giving him some milk and he immediately burped and projectile vomited all over the place. I guess he had a stomach-ache, because he jumped down and started woofing at the dog and chasing her like usual mornings. He's totally normal now, so hopefully it was just a one time thing.
