I slept 11 glorious hours. DS didn't wake up till 9am!
Since we were pregnant at the same time, I compare my kid to yours the most often. I am jealous of your child. Maybe ours were switched at birth? Even though we live a million miles a part.
Ha ha. If it helps the other night I got 3 hours of sleep? He just likes to stay in bed forever in the morning lol. I told him he isn't allowed to wake up till I come get him and that if he does that he can watch a video. So far so good!

Should never have let her watch TV. Not a treat anymore.
Maybe something else she loves? A special game or whatever?
AJ and I just got back from lunch...he was an absolute rock star the whole 2+ hours we were at Panera and flirted with anyone that looked at him, and didn't melt down until I put him in the car seat when it was time to go (he was tiiiiiired). But he fell asleep on the way home, nursed, and is now making noise in his crib. Go to sleep, buddy!
Nap didn't happen. He's slept for all of five minutes in the last few hours. GO TO SLEEP. We went over to my parents in the hopes they can wear him out...he's in a great mood, just won't sleep. GO TO SLEEP.

Happy birthday starry-
Tomorrow is a floating holiday so I am planning on working and using the day in a couple weeks when we go skiing.i keep dreaming about not working but letting the nanny still come and just having a glorious day to myself......go to the gym, get a mani/pedi, meet a friend for lunch....ahhhh such dreams. Well at least it will be somewhat quiet so I will get stuff done.
My kid is having the roughest time sleeping lately. She has All The Teeth coming in. I swear they're all coming in at once. Her poor little mouth is red and she's super drooly, which is unusually for her. Her cheeks are even swollen from it! And she's got a chest cold so she sounds terrible. Poor little bug.
What do I do about the cracked skin/dried snot around DD's nose? This is the worst cold she's had. I think it's getting better, but I can't tell what's cracked skin and what's dried snot. Using boogie wipes makes her SCREAM and makes the cracked skin bleed.
Neosporin? Aquaphor? Leave it totally alone?
Oh poor kid! I would aquaphor it in hopes of creating a barrier between the cracked skin and the irritant.
This sounds pretty normal for a 6 week old. Definitely swaddle for naps if you think it would help. Was he unhappy and overtired? A fair amount of ladies here have had babies who rarely took long naps and all is well.
Getting up every 2-3 hours to eat - sucks but normal at that age.
He seemed pretty happy, he wasn't fussing at all unless it was food time. I still don't really know his tired cues but I don't think he seemed tired. He generally sleeps from 7-7 with wake-ups so I guess he seems to be getting most of his sleep at night? Most of the stuff I've read said they should be sleeping about 15 hours a day so I guess that seems right. I just don't know what to do with him when he's awake! Your response is reassuring though, so thanks.
I'm having a hard time too because H has been sleeping most of the day the past few days because he is feeling off and then he's at work all night. It's starting to get to me.
This was totally me with an infant, lol. I felt dumb singing and essentially talking to myself. Honestly, everything is new to him! Just do what you do and let him hang out with you. Put him on his playmat with something to look at and reach for. Put a mirror near his face or black and white pictures (you can buy art cards or just print some off google images or something). Really, you don't have to entertain. I promise!
Thanks @idaholakelady and @peggyolson. Neosporin layered with Aquaphor it is.
She also still has a fever so we're keeping her home tomorrow. Obviously I want her to feel better, but our day off work while daycare is open is ruined.
My pity party continues.
I swear to god we are living the same life! We re been planing a ski day tomorrow since Thanksgiving. Work is closed but daycare is open. Now, between the teeth and the cold, I'm not sure I'm comfortable sendin her to daycare . Especially since we'll be at a ski hill with poor cell phone service. It'll be a game time decision tomorrow .
On the last episode of house of cards season 2. I had a productive Sunday. DD is 5 weeks. I feel like I spend too much time with the tv on and on my phone. I get annoyed when DH is on his phone when he's holding her and she's awake but I am on my phone frequently.
I joined a local FB group that is "friends of this semi-crunch cloth diaper and baby carrier store". I do want to meet some new moms, and generally need to find some more social events to get out to. I'm a bit bored lately.
But I'm not THAT crunchy and the one-upping about what kind of "milk" your toddler drinks is so eye roll worthy I kind of don't want to meet these people. We're probably one vaccination discussion away from me quitting.

We had a super productive weekend, and it's not even over yet! Our kitchen/family room ceiling is all installed, the pantry cabinets are finished, the second oven is in and functioning and our bar lights are up. Woot! After 2 Years, I am thisclose to having a finished kitchen!!
