Hi everyone.
I was on the decorating and Boston boards for a while, fell off the nest for a bit, and now just finding my way back here. (The iPad makes it easier to watch tv and nest at the same time.)
A little about me, I live in Boston's South End gayborhood with my partner of 9 years and our adorable cat. He and I love our tiny condo and are enjoying slowly renovating the space. I grew up in Maryland and moved to Boston back on 2000, after finishing my undergrad program in music education and teaching for a few years in NJ. I love Boston!
My partner and I enjoy walking and shopping around the city, eating out at many of the wonderful restaurants in our neighborhood, and I LOVE to cook. (We just finished our kitchen and bar/prep area remodel and it makes me so happy to cook in my new little dream kitchen. I am also into vintage cocktails, so our new bar area has been a blast!
I look forward ward to hanging out here on the LGBT board and getting to know you.
Welcome! Tell me more about your love of vintage cocktails? I've always thought it would be fun to host a dinner party and ask guests to bring receipes for classic cocktails that have gone out of style.
Oh and I'm Two. My wife and I have been married 6 years. We have three children, all of which I'm unsuccessfully getting to bed right now.

My interest in vintage cocktails began when I took a class at Stir Boston. The theme was the cuisine of New Orleans and instead of traditional wine pairings, they had a bartender from Drink serve vintage cocktails with each course. It was amazing. The bartender was so knowledgable and passionate about the history of each drink. The background info is what grabbed my attention, not to mention the fact that I was tasting some amazing, well balanced cocktails that I had never heard of before. Now I have a growing cocktail book library and I have made several trips to the Boston Shaker for all of the bar tools I need to create some of the fun cocktails.
When we have guests over, we actually have a cocktail menu to share. It's a fun way to offer friends a chance to try something new...and of course I will still make what ever they request off the menu as week, but that rarely happens.
A cocktail party, where people being their own recipe sounds like fun!
Good luck waking up your little ones. We do not have any children, but I am an elementary school teacher, so I have four hundred children to hangout with, and I don't have to pay for their college.
Welcome! I love the elegance of old fashioned cocktails...sadly I think my days of drinking anything other than the occasional beer/glass of red wine/margarita is behind me. My partner and I have been together almost 14y and we have twin boys.
I am a fellow Bostonian. Well the suburbs anyhow. We live just outside the city in a town that begins with N. I am a teacher too (6th grade science). My wife and I have been together for about 8 years and married for almost 6. We have a 4.5 year old daughter. Welcome. Now I want a cocktail!

Welcome! I live in the suburbs of Seattle and work in healthcare. I'm a single mom of a 7 year old girl. I'm a newish fan of craft cocktails and for about a year frequented a place that had a great bartender known for his drinks. Sadly he moved away and I have yet to go on the hunt for a new place.

Hi! My wife and I live outside of Kansas City, KS. We have 3 dogs and no children as of yet. We've been together for 8 years and married for 5. It's nice to see a new face around here, so welcome!

Rikki... I have a funny Kansas City story... A few years ago I was supposed to go to a advisory board meeting for an organization I work with. I was responsible for booking my own fight, the organization booked the hotel... (Some not so great hotel near the airport... There was a deer hunting video game in the bar... Trust me, these were not my people...) Anyway, I arrive on a Friday evening , try to check into the hotel, and found out that I made the trip a week early. OMG... Now, of course I looked online and found that if I had been downtown I could have gone to some nice restaurants, museums, I'm sure I could have done some shopping, but I was stranded at this not so great hotel. Thankfully the airline was able to get me out of there first thing the next morning. Believe me, I still here about that weekend every time I go to a meeting with that group.
