Are your kids doing crazy stuff inspired by the Olympics?

DS and DD are currently jumping off a chair and then running and jumping into a giant pile of pillows. I'm not sure how scoring works.

DH also made them skis out of cardboard, by request.

DS isn't that inventive, but he's been randomly chanting "U-S-A, U-S-A!" during the most random times

DS2 has been putting on my slippers and skating through the house. He also gets the broom to play curling.

I cannot wait for N to do this My siblings and I used to put together all kinds of gymnastics and synchronized swimming routines (in summer) and would skate around the house during the winter Olympics. So much fun!

My kid has been doing slope style all over the living room furniture since he turned 2. He is 4 now. BOYS.

DD keeps trying to do tricks, which are spinning jumps. She has asked to play hockey, which is pretty far out of our cultural norm, but has got me looking for skating lessons anyway.

My kids are not any crazier than usual, but my 67 yo dad just joined a curling club and is making rumblings about spending an insane amount of money on his own curling stone (apparently they are like $2-5k?). He read some book about curling strategy and is all "it's like chess on ice!" Alrighty.

DS was ice dancing earlier!

Dd1 is skating around the house and trying to convince us to throw her in the air. It's cute and annoying, all in one!

DD tried a spin at ice skating lessons that she would not try before. She fell face down on the ice mid spin. She was wearing a helmet, but still got a big goose egg on her forehead from the impact with the helmet, and couldn't finish the lesson. I wish the ice dancers would wear helmets, it would be easier to convince DD that they are cool.
