What are you training for? Date? New Bedford Half, March 16
Training plan for the week? Rest today, 7 mi run tomorrow, 3 mi lunch run Thu, Friday rest, Saturday 11 mi long run
Any vents or injuries? I'm very annoyed about my weekend. I had a 10 mile race on Sunday that I was planning on using as a tuneup run. So I rested Saturday, upped calories that day. Due to the storm, they delayed the race start and then when I got there, they shortened the course to a 10K, but the course actually ended up being about 5.2 miles. On snow. I was pissed. Not only did I not get my miles in, but I couldn't even up the pace and make it a speed run because I had to be cautious about slipping. I tried for a long run yesterday but my legs were too stiff (I must have used some different muscles on the snow, because I felt it like crazy yesterday). Plus we had Valentines dinner on Sunday night and after a few drinks, I was in no shape to take on my long run the next day. So I got about 6.5 in and called it quits.
Highlights from last week? I did some interval training on Tuesday night last week that I was pleased with. I'm not a speed runner and doing intervals successfully is a good accomplishment for me.
Training open to changes but something like this Mon: 5 miles and core Tues: hoping to do 8 when babysitter gets here Wed: short run (5?) and strength Thurs: 6ish or cross train Fri: whatever I didn't do on thurs Sat: 13 Sun: cross train and strength
Vents?: other than the snow? We all have colds. Even the little one which had me sleeping on his floor with him in the bouncer last night.
What are you training for? Date? Albany HM 3/1/14 and Gate River Run 15k 3/15/14. I am suddenly having a strong urge to run a late spring full. I have no idea why, because before my last full I was so excited that if I BQ'd, my next marathon wouldn't be until 4/2015. I'm tabling that crazy for right now. I think it will depend on how DH does in Albany. If he gets another big half PR, I think he'll want to look into another full in the next few months.
Training plan for the week? So far, it looks something like this:
M:6 miles @ MP (chased DH for a bit) + upper body & core, T: Lower body, W: Probably 6 miles on bridges+core, Th: rest + upper body, F: 7 miles + core, S: 5 miles + lower body, S: 9-10 miles + core
Any vents or injuries? Nope. I'm good!
Highlights from last week? I had a pretty strong 10 miler on Sunday. I didn't really plan for it to be speedy. I just let my legs do their own thing, and I winded up w/10 miles @ 7:51 pace. That's only 2 sec slower than my current half PR pace.
What are you training for? Date? Urban Environmental Challenge 10k on April 13th
Training plan for the week? Monday - Pilates and PT for my ankle Tuesday - easy 3m run Wednesday - yoga and PT Thursday - 4m tempo run Friday - rest Saturday - strength and yoga Sunday - 4m run
Any vents or injuries? I'm still healing from a minor injury in my peroneal tendon (along the outside of my ankle and foot) and my PT says my Achilles is tight so I need to work on that before it becomes an issue.

(*Knocks on wood*) Highlights from last week? I got a great run in (and a new PDR of 5 miles!) while on a trip with my family over the weekend. Amazing what a change of scenery can do for endurance!
I need to figure out some races. This week will be chiropractic exercises, walking, maybe an easy run this weekend if I'm allowed (I hope I can at least cycle), and lots of stretching.

Any vents or injuries? Some upper back pain during my long run (probably shoveling snow related), hhd a crappy TM run on Sat 5M I just can't run fast on the TM it's so difficult.
Highlights from last week? Ran 12 miles which is my longest postpartum run, had to do two 6 mile laps around my neighborhood since my favorite trail was covered in snow.
Currently on the calendar: Bayou City Classic 10k on March 8 (?) and Austin 1020 10 miler on April 13
Plan for the week: M strength/core T 8m with 5 at tempo W 3m recovery Th strength/core F rest S 7m easy plus core S 13-15m
Highlights/vents: Not much really. I'm hanging out in maintenance mode, trying to keep getting a little faster. I'm not doing super awesome on the diet front - I keep it together for a few days and then it's the weekend, or a holiday, or something and it all goes to hell.
clseale - you're crazy and I'm kind of jealous. I had vague thoughts of trying to tack on one more in the first half of this year but I just don't think it's going to happen.

Training plan for the week? M: swim 20 min T: run 5 miles (turned into 4) W:swim 30 min Th: run 5 miles + hills (am), yoga (pm) F: rest S: 10 mile race + 1 mile warm up S: Run 4-6 miles
Any vents or injuries? My runner's trots are back. I don't think anything has changed but I am miserable.
Highlights from last week? I ran a hilly loop on Saturday where I usually walk up one of the bigger hills. I barely noticed it this time.
What are you training for? Date? Half on 4.19.14 and Marathon on 5.10.14
Training plan for the week?
Monday - off Tuesday - 5.2 miles with 6 x 800m at between 5K/10K pace. Awesome run this am! Wednesday - 4-5 easy Thursday - off Friday - 4-5 easy Saturday - not sure. After doing 14 last weekend I think I need a cutback week to make sure I'm not doing the dreaded "too much, too soon". Probably 9 miles. Sunday - off or 3 miles recovery

Nope. I'm kind of scared by how well things are going right now.
Highlights from last week? All around excellent training week! 14 miles outside on Saturday felt great, even though it started snowing on me. 31 miles for the week.

Reading this thread makes me want to get back on the bandwagon already. Maybe I will do the Austin 1020...I survived warm and humid this weekend, I could do it again if necessary, right?

I'm trying to find something new to train for. Lake Berryessa isn't until June and it's only 2 miles max. However, I'll answer in regards to my next event (not really training for it).
Gar Woods Polar Bear Swim - March 1. (Only 250 yards, but water temp is 39 degrees) Cold water acclimation swim on Sunday at 2pm. Nothing. I wish it would rain or snow or something. 5 miles in the Bay (split over 7 laps).

Any vents or injuries? Vent - I bonked my 16 miler last weekend. I only did 7.25 and I was dead.
Highlights from last week? 9 miler with 6 @gmp and felt great. That came the day before my bonk. Less than 2 weeks until my marathon. Getting super excited and a little nervous!

Training plan for the week? Do at least an hour of cardio each day this week.
I'm still debating whether I want to run a 10k race on Saturday. I'm throwing a B-day party for DD in the afternoon. I don't know if I'll have the energy to deal with both.
Any vents or injuries? My achilles has been sore the past few days, probably because I've been wearing mostly ballet flats lately. I've been spending more time on the elliptical than running the past few days.
What are you training for? Date? RnR DC 3,15,14, CB10 4.6.14
Training plan for the week? M: rest, T: maybe like 30 min of running, W: intervals, hopefully on the track, R: 45 min run, ST, F: rest, S: 13 mi, S: 45 min run + ST
Any vents or injuries? I'm finding it impossible to muster any fucks at all for my next half. I know I'm not going to PR and that I'm not going to die and have really, really been phoning it in lately.
