I bought cross-country skis in November, because this was going to be the year I finally learned. I've been twice, when we had two weeks of snow in mid-January. It's been above zero and rainy for months, and we're all miserable.

My parents in the States have now officially had the most snow-filled winter ever with several weeks worth of days under 0°F.
Here, we have not once had snow that stuck (only a few scattered flakes falling from the sky) and we have not had a single day that stayed below freezing during the day.

Yep, the snow is here this year. There is snow on the roads today as I write this. We've also had some unusually cold spells but not as bad as other parts of the country. It snowed in early December. Since early January, it has regularly been cold and snowy with random periodic warm spells. Believe me, we are sick of it and I would happily send it your way if I could.
I think that a lot of the snow that has passed through the Upper Midwest and Eastern Seaboard has been making its way especially to the UK but as rain. We had as snow what they have been having as rain which has caused the record floods there. I will say that having a lot of snow is better than flooding in this case. It is just bad when they don't plow the roads properly.
It snowed here one day last week. It's been raining now since Saturday, almost non-stop. I don't want to leave the apartment - every time I do I end up cold and wet, with or without an umbrella.
I don't think we have had any snow at all. It has been a very mild winter, which I guess makes up for last year's winter where it was below freezing for weeks. I'm a little worried what the lack of a real winter will mean for spring weather!

we've had a crappy winter. Only a few inches that lasted all of three or four days. My daughter has bern so disappointed that she went sledding only once this year.
67 inches so far this winter. Last year it was only 10 inches. It's a mess since we live in the city. We just had another 5 inches yesterday. I can't go anywhere today because I can't get my car out. There is snow everywhere and because we had rain in January there are ruts of ice on the roads. It makes parking hard and makes me question if we should downsize our car to a compact.
Oh and it's been cold. So cold that your head hurts when you walk a block. The public school here closed 4 days for cold. That is unheard of for them to shutdown.

No snow here, and the heat has been intense, but in short bursts, just a couple of days of heat then a break. I think the longest stretch was 4 days straight of over 40 temps.
My parents had snow and ice, and in NOLA two rounds of three days being told by the officials to "hunker down" and stay home. Their house in Arkansas had several inches of snow, but they were in NOLA at the time.
My brother in Kansas City who usually sends me all kinds of pictures of him happily shoveling snow, texted me the other day "I'm over snow." I don't know how much he's had, but if it's enough for him to get tired of shoveling, I'm sure it's a lot.
It's been hot here for about a week. Upper 30s (we don't get into the 40s like the Aussies). Tater Tot has got heat rash this week, so I've been trying to keep him in just a diaper when possible and giving cool baths every evening.
No snow. But it seems like it has been raining non stop since Christmas. And the wind... Trees down, power and phone lines down. I feel bad for the repair guys cos they go out in all sorts of horrible conditions to try to get power restored. One died last week doing repairs...
So much that I am sick of it. I was out of town last week, but apparently, it was in the 40s and 50s (F) in NY all week. You would think that would melt away the last of the snow, but no. There are still black icy piles of it on random corners. It is not pretty.
We're supposed to get more later this week, I hear.

Same in Chicago it warmed up and rained and it just made icy mounds of snow that sort of melted. It looks so ugly outside. I want spring now! And I doubt he tree will get leaves until end of April.
I could get my car out for three days despite the warm temperatures.
