Hmm, I watched the first couple seasons but stopped after a while. Based on your comment re: John & Katherine, I'm thinking I made the right move

Yes, but not in a way that would be redeeming to me. He was watching some TV programs of kids dancing at a prom like event in the 60s. And he makes some I got an idea face. He has this big family dinner ready at the house with everyone there. And they group of them start playing a beat with the spoons and plates and she's all confused faces. There is corny dancing that follows and ends with him cradling her in his arms. And then all is well!? I think I spaced out after so I don't know really.

It was also a music and dance episode with weird daydream like scenes. I hate when shows do these episodes. Why!?

My question should have been clearer... I saw the ep, but couldn't decide if it was "enough" or not.

I didn't like the way the character was going, and I'm not sure whether this is a real change or not.

Enough to maybe talk to him a few more times. Redeeming in that he did something out of his comfort zone. But meh. Not enough.
