You guys probably didn't know this, but the best way to get through 8 hours of school every day for 12 years is to be fucking hungry while you do it. Maslow's hierarchy of needs be damned.
Yeah, I mean, triumphing over adversity is good for your character, dammit! How do you expect to succeed at life if you can't stop thinking about your hunger long enough to put in the work to become valedictorian, huh?
...And wait until you are at least 21 to be married. And wait until you are married to have children with a man who will stay around. I went to school, studied and worked instead of laying on my back under boys.
Oh yeah? Well I laid on my back under boys before I got married, and I have a Ph.D.
Well I certainly know that when I was in elementary school and had to take that embarrassing walk up to the front of the classroom to get my "free lunch" chip with everyone looking at me, all I could think about was how awesome it was that my parents didn't make much money and could bilk all these rich kids' parents that way. Those suckers, paying for their own food and all.
How high an income bracket do you have to be in to have $2000 per pay period in taxes? How do you know 100% of that tax goes to government waste, or did she take what she thinks isn't waste out of that figure?
Not that high.. .Maybe 100k? (two 50k jobs)
Well, she said "a grand a week between the two of us" so it's $1,000 not $2,000.
But I was wondering the same thing. Is that $1,000 all taxes, including fed, state, medicare, ss? Or is it ONLY the taxes for payroll taxes for social programs? I'm guessing the former. And I think that they would have to be making more than 100k, as 1,000 a week would be more than 50% of their pay.

Wait, so it's okay to have sex as long as the girl is on top? I mean, we all know I'm personally too lazy to do this, but this is my takeaway from her message.

Plus, she mentions that she's doing their taxes right now, so maybe they own a small business and are taxed at a different rate than personal taxes, so I think it's from about 13-27% of taxes. And if she's not tax savvy, then maybe she's missing a ton of deductions and paying much more than needed - oh, wait, she moved her way up in a unionized, swim club in high school and didn't screw her own husband for "months" in order to plan her kids properly so they could do chores for lunch money instead of eating terrible "brown bag lunches", so she's probably smart enough to get all the tax deductions figured out.
Plus she keeps talking about so much of her and her DH's money going to taxes for poor people on welfare, but after Medicaid/medicare and Social Security (which she will get back eventually), the majority of her tax dollars go toward military. Of that military budget, 22+% goes to personal expenses including housing and healthcare and although the direct costs of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were $900billion, the military VA is predicting that treating 33,000+ wounded vets will far surpass that in the near future - all directly funded from federal taxes. Let's see her touch on getting rid of some of those military programs. Oh and I'm pretty sure, but don't quote me, that the free lunch program comes from the Department of Agriculture budget and so that's even a different pot of $$. She'd probably be horrified to see that there are programs at every level to help poor kids eat and have a house and a phone for emergencies, etc.

If you make about $150k and are single and have absolutely no deductions or allowances whatsoever, you'd pay about that.
Which is basically no one. So...more.
If you file Married and 0 and have no other deductions you will pay about 2k in Federal taxes per biweekly pay period if you make around 240k.

a grand a week, but most places pay bi-weekly, that's where I doubled it. I figured some one could more easily answer my question if it was based on the standard 2 week pay cycle.

This makes more sense than septimus's 100k. I don't look at DH's pay stubs, but we both withhold Married, Single rate, 0 and just cracked 100k this year and I don't feel we paid $1,000k/wk in taxes based on what I know DH's final deposited amount is, my paycheck has negligible taxes withheld.

No, she didn't!?!! Really? And is unionized swim club a joke, because if not...wtf?
I'm surprised she doesn't like brown bag lunches and considers them "terrible". It's much easier to control the quality of food her kids are getting if they brown bag it, and it's cheaper as well. Now her kids have to eat the same crap the poor kids eat, ewww! ^o)
