Wow, this article highlights that this seems like less of a church and more like a cult. When one young woman wanted to leave, they told her the plane would crash if she got on it. Children go to the church "school" until at most 10th grade--and are taught by people who themselves didn't go past 10th grade. They seem to believe any kind of planning is sinful.
I can't fathom having such a strong faith. I do feel bad for the parents, that they truly they did something to cause God to choose their child to die. It's crazy to me that they firmly believe it, extremely sad.
My 7 month old son has his first real cold and DH and I have been heartbroken listening to his little coughs. I cannot begin to think of what it would be like to watch your child die and not make any attempt to save him. I am getting teary eyed just thinking about that. And how scary for the other kids in that family to go through losing 2 of their brothers and hearing that God chose for them to die. I feel for those children.

I'd like to think I have a strong faith, but faith has to be guided by reason and understanding. Their interpretation of the Bible is completely literal and misapplied.
