I rarely do. I sweat like it's my job. My armpits are only a teeny tiny part of me- why waste deodorant there? I'd need to cover my entire self with it to make a difference.
this is me too. also, I get armpit chafe with deodorant if I'm wearing a tank. this is worse than underboob chafe, just FYI.
I am shocked by the number of people who don't put on deodorant. Shocked. lol I thought this was a no-brainer, and deodorant does not equal "primping."
I don't like the sticky feeling I get under my arms if I sweat without deodorant. It's not even a smell issue, or a working out with others issue...I just...I just don't understand why you wouldn't put on deodorant.
This. I definitely put on deodorant, if nothing else just as a 'body glide' for my armpits.
OK. So DH and I both stayed home from work today. We hit the gym around 1:00 (had both been hanging in our pajamas all day) and as we were walking out the door I asked if he remembered to put on deodorant. He looked at me like I had twelve heads and said he never wears deodorant when he works out (which is 99% of the time first thing in the morning). We have been together for TWELVE YEARS and I never knew this. I thought he was lying. Then he thought I was lying when I said I always reapply deodorant right before working out. Every single time no matter what. I thought for sure that 100% of you guys would agree with me. I feel like a newbie finding out for the first time that people don't wear underwear. I am floored.
He insists that it is because he showers right after, and he doesn't like the way the soap feels when he tries to wash freshly deodorized armpits in the shower. The soap doesn't lather properly or something. Maybe I'm just a sweaty beast??
I was surprised to find out that my H rarely wears deodorant. He only wears it 'on days he thinks he might sweat' whatever TF that means? He doesn't ever stink, maybe he is just a lucky one?
I can't stand the smell of myself without deodorant. It's bad. I am a sweaty, stinky, runner and while I don't smell like roses post run even with the deodorant, I still want every bit of help I can get.
this exactly. even if I am running all by myself and will for sure 100% not see anybody else until after I shower, or if it is only 28 degrees out and I will not likely sweat "as much" (ha, I still sweat like a beast!) I put deod on. clinical strength, baby!
I guess it's just habit for me, like brushing my teeth. It never crossed my mind to not use it.
Yeah, I'm here. When I'm still half asleep and trying to get out the door I'm not making a conscious decision to put it on, it's just part of the morning routine.
No. I used to, but I sweat through the deodorant, which then gets imbedded into the armpits of my clothes and causes permastank. Not cool.
Does this mean that the shirt I noticed yesterday has perma-smell is smelly because of deodorant? And that if I just sweat without deodorant the rest of my shirts will still smell nice when they come out of the wash? I could be convinced to try no deodorant if this is the case.
emilyinchile, I have found this to be true, especially with invisible solids/gels/sprays (and I hate roll on. )The oily residue gets imbedded and the smell doesn't come out.
Confession? I rarely wear deodorant anyway unless my armpits have time to completely dry (aka, shower at night) or it's summer and I'm wearing a tank/sundress. But I'm clean and smell nice. I promise.
