Review question - must the reviews be lengthy? I was going to post a simple reference list of my daily go-tos. Do I need to write a novel about why I like them?
Meh. I plan on writing a sentence or two about each think I list.

Whatever the spirit of makeup compels you to do. Mine will be a list with brief comments
I don't understand. Do we have homework? We have to write up reviews?
LOL.
Nobody has to post anything! But I thought it would be helpful to have a "make up thread at a glance" kind of thing, just an easy to access reference guide of posters favorite products and least favorite products because the spreadsheet was way too much to keep up with.
Write as much or as little as you want.
I probably won't do my assignment until later tonight. Fucking brief needing to be written, cutting into my makeup time. I still haven't even placed my Tarte order! I am so behind.

ETA: NVM, I see what people are doing now.
I kind of just did basic impressions. I still need to go back and add thoughts about palettes and brushes

Before we lock this thread, can someone explain eyebrow products to me? I see all these products online, but I don't understand them. I have dark, thick eyebrows that I try to stay on top of in the plucking department, but I do nothing else. I do not need help making them look full. Is there anything I SHOULD be doing?

I use a little wax or gel on mine because they can be kind of unruly, and I lightly go over them with an eyeshadow to darken them a bit. That's all I do really. If yours are fine without, then its one less thing to have to do!
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

H: "I don't want this to sound mean about your makeup, but..."
::dramatic pause oh shit::
"It seems like you are doing a better job blending."
IIOY: "Why would this be mean?"
H: "Because it makes it sound like it wasn't good before."
IIOY: "Dude. It's all good."
::conversation about importance of good tools::
Unfortunately he couldn't really explain what wasn't being well-blended before. All he could say was that there would be makeup and then suddenly no makeup. I have no clue what he means because I've always filled in the entire eyeball.
ETA: BTW, my husband NEVER talks about my appearance. He'll answer a question if I ask directly, and he'll occasionally say something nice spontaneously, but apparently he was beaten as a child and taught never to comment on a woman's appearance unless absolutely necessary. Or something.
I had this convo with BF recently, too! He was all "Oh, your blending is much better!" And I'm all "you could've pointed out to me that maybe I had lines? Nope?"

Has anyone tried the Nyx Matte lipsticks? I was super tempted to pick up one up in Shocking Pick yesterday, but then I remembered all of the love for Bite lip products and wasn't sure.
I almost picked one up at Ulta when I was there early last month but I ended up putting it back so I could get the UD setting spray. LOL
#ihatebeingonabudget
But I do love their soft matte lip creams.
Allergies have totally wrecked my eyeballs this week. I did a very pretty eye this morning with my chocolate bar, using marzipan, haute chocolate and crème brulee but it didn't hold out through all of my watering this morning, even with using stay don't stray.
Tomorrow will be my last day of my personal Chocolate Bar Challenge, and I think my next weekly palette challenge will be either It NP or Lorac 1. I'm going to have to do a week with Afterglo soon too. Hmmm.

I'm starting Afterglo this weekend as my next challenge!!! We can do it together!!

450 BITCHES!!!
Also, I officially cannot use primer. I patch tested Clinique Superprimer a few minutes ago. In addition to the usual stinging, redness, and swelling, I now have a welt the size of a small mosquito bite on my jawline.
I think this is the third brand of primer I've tried? NOPE NOPE NOPE.

I'm sorry. Your skin is more dry-ish, correct? Have you tried MUFE's? It's a creamy primer, it doesn't have that weird primer-y feeling to it. Smashbox also makes a dry skin primer, and so does NARS (it's their radiance one).
So people, I finally placed my Tarte order.
I did not buy the Snake palette. I went back and forth about 80 times, and finally decided that since I also am anticipating Sephora sales soon, I should restrain myself. And when it comes down to it, the colors aren't that different from my current Tarte palette. Sooooo instead I got:
6 piece Smoldereyes set (3 liners, 2 chubby liners, and a mascara), two cream shadows (plum and slate), and a blush in Buff (shimmering nude). Plus the clay mask freebie.
All for $51. Plus ebates. I can't do the tattoo pots, so the fact that I'm getting two cream shadows plus other shit for this price is such a score to me.

ESF, yes, I have VERY dry skin. I haven't tried those primers you mentioned. I might patch test them at Sephora, but only if I'm armed with allergy.
I'm getting so nervous about my upcoming haircut. I haven't had it cut in almost a year and haven't had it cut at a non-Aveda salon in 7 years. I'm going to make him patch test any product at the beginning so I know what I can use. And I will probably take my own hair product just in case nothing works.
My VIB makeover is going to be lame because of how much I can't use. The good news, I guess, is that I have never had a problem with any powder makeup so tons of blushes and eyeshadows are available.

Go for the Smashbox one first. They sell their primer in mini-sizes for $10, but when you compare the per ounce price of it to the full size (and all other full size high end primers), it's an absolute steal. I preferred the NARS one, but not enough to justify paying about four times as much.

Noted. Of course, since the big issue is whether I react, I may not be able to be picky about price!

Get on it woman! Spend that lawyerin' money!
s/o spending, I'm obviously going to be spending a lot LESS money on makeup this month.. I just got a damn speeding ticket. lol
I just broke my no-buy because of this really good L'Occitane deal: $3 for three travel-sized hand creams. I'm almost out of my last travel-sized tube, so the timing was perfect. You can get up to three per order, and there are Google-able codes for free shipping and extra goodies if you're spending over $25.
I have an application question... I started using eyeshadow to make a smudged lower line under my eye. It looks BEAUTIFUL when I first do it, but the color is kind of falling down a bit as the day wears on. Do I need to put a little primer under there, or is the color just cruddy and falling? It's TheBalm's Nude'tude pallete, which I do find has some fall out to begin with... but the color looks so nice when I first put it there!
