My XH's nephew sent me a friend request on FB tonight.
I didn't even realize it was him at first. I recognized the name of course, but it's semi-common, so I was trying to come up with any excuse I could to turn him into someone else. Couldn't. And I couldn't see enough of his profile to be sure: all I could see was his name and photo, and he had his head tilted down in such a way that I couldn't see his face clearly.
Oh, and it's a wedding photo.
I was trying to remember how old this kid was the last time I saw him. I eventually decided he had to be about 17 now, so married?!
He's 18 actually, and yes, it's him. And he's been married for a full year.
I cannot imagine why this kid would look me up and contact me. It's just so bizarre.
I couldn't message him without accepting the request, so I bit the bullet and did it, because I had to know for sure if it was really him. And as soon as I could see more of his profile, it became obvious. The kid is like HARDCORE Christian now too apparently, which is odd.
So I sent him a very nice little message saying that I was surprised to hear from him and asking how he'd been. A part of me is almost hoping that he doesn't answer, because then I can just delete him again guilt-free. The whole thing is just weird though, and I don't really know how I feel about it. But the whole family was so fucked up that a part of me feels like if this is an actual attempt to reach out for some reason, then I can't just ignore it.
Have you known him since he was little? It may not be a case of looking up Uncle's XW, but more, I kind of liked my Aunt, wonder what happened?
He was like 11 when we got married. They lived in a different state, so we hadn't seen a whole lot of them before that, but I remember visiting them and his grandmother joking that he had a crush on me. But then they moved to California not long after, so I'm trying to remember if we even saw each other after the wedding.
He's doing a lot better! Still doesn't have full range of motion in his neck, but it's not really noticeable unless you're trying to get him to turn a certain way. He's been much more active these past few days; he wants to go run and play in the yard. I'm letting him to a point, because I figure it's about time he got some exercise, but I also don't want him to overdo it.
