So I am what I'd consider "skinny fat" I'm 5'5" and weigh about 116 but I have a tummy from having 2 children. I do cardio 5 days a week and know I need to add in strength/weight training and need to change my diet but I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks ladies

The only way I can get my stomach flat is to cut way back on carbs and sugars. I can exercise as much as I want, but if the diet isn't really good, it's not going to make any difference in my stomach.
I started weight training with a personal trainer. If you're unsure about where to start or what to do, I would probably start there. A lot of gyms have weight lifting 101 classes, low cost personal training consultations, etc.
I would definitely say cut the cardio down and add weight training. I'm 5'3" and go between 110-115 and although my weight hasn't changed much, I can see my body looking better and more tone since I've added in strength training. I spend at least 10 min working on core, and have started toning up my arms. Planks are definitely your friend. I definitely default to cardio if I don't have a plan. I also use myfitnesspal to track what I'm eating, it just helped me be more aware for what I eat. I also drink lots of water/herbal tea throughout the day
