Some friends are going to start doing p90x a few times a week and have asked me to join them. I think I'd like to, but have a couple of questions for those who have done it before.
Will p90x 3 times a week fit in with continued running 3 times a week? I've done light strength training during the last 18 weeks of marathon training, but nothing like this. Will I be too wrecked to run?
Do you think 3 times a week will get decent results, if combined with running? By results I'm thinking both about body composition and athletic performance/strength.
Any recommendations for which workouts would work best on a 3 times/week schedule?
My knees have given me trouble with a lot of body weight activities (like lunges and squats) in the past. Any worries about p90x and injuries?
And please don't flog me for asking a repeat question. I searched the forum first and came up with some info, but also got sucked into the vortex of crazy "coaches" and trolls, so figured I'd start fresh. Thanks for any info!

If running is your cardio, I'd probably skip the P90X cardio based workouts like plyo & kenpo. If I recall, the program is organized to alternate lifting, cardio, & yoga/stretching with additional ab work (except for the transition weeks, usually every 4th week). So maybe follow the classic schedule and replace the cardio workouts with running. I might suggest doing the leg workout on a day when you're not going to run afterwards (unless you're tougher than I am!). If you want resistance without lifting, the Core Synergistics is a good choice.

I pretty much agree with everything Helio has said in this post.
