Wow, I was just there a few months ago. Actually yesterday we were at the beach at Long Branch, NJ when the water was evacuated due to a small shark. It was tiny in comparison to a friggin Great White!
We kayak with a group of people on the weekends. One of the guys we kayak with has a big ass canoe that sits 9and it has sails. The "plan" is to put in in Dartmouth, MA and go over to Martha's Vineyard, about a 9 mile trip. My immediate response was "OMG the sharks will get us". No one else shared my concern.

I saw this yesterday. Apparently because we've had an increased focus on animal preservation, the seal population has grown and we've had more Great Whites up here as a result.
And LOL - one of the comments says "Blue and brown streaked kayak for sale. VERY FAST." (or something to that effect.) lololol.

Holy fuck. I've been to the Cape many times but I WADE in the water. Like, up to my ankles. And this is why. No, for real. I am absolutely terrified of the water (aka: sharks in the water).
