I was apprehensive because I didn't see the need for a reboot of a franchise that started out awesome (Hello, Toby Maguire) and then fizzled with that last movie.. but my 15 yo niece is visiting and she went to see it.

DH and I were really pleasantly surprised. They changed up some of the basics of the Peter Parker story but the new story was well developed. The new kid, Andrew Garfield, was cute and played the role very well. I liked Emma Stone and all the supporting actors, as well.

Definitely looking forward to the future films in this franchise!

While the details are different from the first franchise, apparently they are more true to the original comic.
I liked this one a lot! I will admit, I was not a big fan of the other movies, mainly because Toby Maguire irritates me.
Also, I loved Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben!

I totally agree, I was meh about a reboot so soon, but it was very enjoyable.
I liked it much better than the Tobey Macguire version.
