I noticed an Ulta makeup near me -- more convient than Sephora and I'm needing more eye liner and shadow.
Any recs for the Ulta brand for liner and shadow? I was using Laura Mercier because that's what the Sephora person recommended, so I'm open to other (hopefully cheaper) options, too.
I've only tried what I've gotten as samples, but I haven't been too impressed by Ulta's store brand. For drugstore-priced shadow, Nyx is pretty good, and Ulta carries it. I don't really use eyeliner, so I'm of no help there, sorry.
I have tried several Ulta products (shadow, liner, mascara, blush, lip gloss, nail polish) and have not been a huge fan. The only product that was halfway decent was the cream blush in the little pot. I actually think that most drugstore brands are better than Ulta brand stuff.
L'Oreal Infallible shadows are staples for me (I especially love the Bronzed Taupe shade) and Ulta carries all of them. A word of advice, though, Ulta's prices are regularly higher than, say, Walgreen's, because they don't run frequent specials. If you're really trying to be budget-conscious I'd look at drugstores before heading to Ulta for most products.

FYI, this week Rite Aid is selling all L'Oreal makeup at 40% off. Apparently this is a very rare sale.
