My mother does this, but I do not.
In fact, she switched out her actual wedding ring for that of her grandparents and great grandparent (stacked) several years ago. She told me it was because they were sentimental, but I can't help but wonder if it wasn't because either hers no longer fit or because it was too different from most wedding rings (hammered gold pattern).
I wear my engagement ring on my left, my wedding band on my right as a symbolic gesture towards my H's greek orthodox faith. I actually just started doing this a while ago and like it much better.
I wear my wedding ring on my left hand and engagement ring on my right. I'm a leftie so wearing them together on my left annoys me.
I do the same but only becuase mine dont match or fit together at all. My wedding band was my grandmothers and it is a very differant style from the e-ring H picked.
This is customary in the US, but the right hand is traditional in Europe.
No it's not; it's customary for some religions, usually the orthodox faith, which has a strong following in Europe. But it's not customary as a rule.
Maybe it varies by country. My mother is German and Roman Catholic. She has always told me that in Europe it was customary to wear wedding rings on the right hand (one ring for both wedding and engagement). Perhaps she was only speaking for Germany.
My father is Coptic Orthodox (from Egypt), and they don't exchange rings at all, but bangles. I'm not sure what side they wear them on, traditionally.

Could be - the google told me this:
"And in Germanic cultures it is worn on the right hand's ring finger (as "the woman to his left" is a old Germanic synonym for a mistress. The left is where your sinful lover wears a ring...)"
