Is this book worth reading? It sounds like it has mixed reviews and has 3.5 stars. My library has it available on kindle right now, so I was thinking of starting it....but I don't want to waste my time...
It's okay. I borrowed it from the library and was personally glad I hadn't paid for it, but if you can get it for free, it's a quick fluff read. You won't be wasting much time, in any case-- it's not a long or deep one.
I think so. Some of her opinions on often-discussed topics were pretty original (she had this great screed about the song "Jack and Diane"), but I also found her to be a little shallow at times.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
It was a good light read. I listened to it, which may have helped make it funnier. I think if you can get it from the library it'd be totally worth it.
Just finished reading it. Didn't like it very much at all.....and didn't really find any funny parts. It's definitely more memoir about someone's life that wasn't very interesting to me. Oh well, it was on my To Read list and now I can count it as read. Definitely a meh book.
