Cupcake/Cake recipes

I asked this last year over on the nest and got some great recipes. I used two and saved them in threads to watch - sadly when the nest messed with the format they are now gone and I of course didn't print them out - darn it!

So, please give me your best cupcake/cake recipes. I am planning to make a couple of batches for my daughter's third birthday this weekend. Any flavor is appreciated - just trying to avoid the box version. Thanks!
