Oh man I would be livid! My cat peed on the floor a couple times because he was mad at me. Now he won't leave me alone and begs for ice water several times a day, then insists on sitting me and gets all pissy when I make him move. Cats can be more work than dogs and sometimes kids,
I was too stunned to be mad. I sat at the foot of the bed just staring at it for ages. I was out of laundry detergent and everything!! I have had her since she was a newborn and she has NEVER done something like this, but her behavior towards me has been suuuuuper weird lately so at the same time I wasn't surprised if I considered the context. I actually gave her extra loves and brushed her out because maybe something is wrong and she doesn't feel good. I am 80% sure it was marking but the 20% has me worried anyway. Cats are SO much more work than dogs and I have a truly high maintenance dog.

One of my cats has taken to peeing on the bath mat. One tiny mistake of leaving the door open (4 am pee call, half asleep) and she'll own it. She's a beeyoch.

One of mine is actually in the hospital with a uti/blockage right now and the pee situation was out of control at our house. Thank goodness he never peed in any of his favorite sleeping spots, because that'd be all our beds, but any laundry on the floor, he'd pee in it. The vet has been treating him, but also gave me the very helpful suggestion of picking laundry up off the floor.. Yeah, no. You're lucky I like you, vet, or I'd have put you down, right then and there, with a punch straight to your junk!
The night we brought the baby home from the hospital I was sitting in bed holding her. My cat jumped into bed and peed on my H. Yea....they can be territorial little shits. Lol
Ironically, A is now obsessed with that pet the most.

Does it have a fake rubber type backing? For some reason, one of our ladies will pee on any and every rubber backed bath mat. She does not pee on our front door mat or a non-rubber backed bath mat. I'm convinced it's the smell. (FTR, she's was a pee-er anyway, but this would happen regardless of if she was having accidents elsewhere in the house)
Also, for everyone with cat pee issues: washing it in a washing machine DOES NOT take the cat pee scent away from your cat's perspective, since their nose is infinitely more sensitive than mine or your's. Use an enzymatic cleaner to break down the urine. My favorite is Urine Off Cats (has a fresh scent) but I'll also do Anti-icky poo (piney type scent). IME, Nature's Miracle is a waste of money and nearly useless, especially when compared to the other two I listed.
I read they pee on the rubber backed stuff because of the latex. Does latex have animal oils in it? Our cat is obsessed with certain plastic bags because of the residule animal oils.
I WISH she had just peed on the bath mat. That would have been so much easier.
Thanks for all the commraderie. I think peeing directly on husband after bringing baby home wins this thread.
Yeah, our cats don't pee- they just throw up when they're pissed. And they know to do it on the carpet. Leave for a night? Puke. Didn't serve them breakfast at their first meow? Puke. Pushed them off the bed? Puke puke puke.
And my little black one has shredded our new couch, ottoman, carpet and dresser. Jerks. Adorable, cuddly jerks.

My cat poops when she is pissed. If we are gone even just over night odds are good there will be a cat poop on the floor when we get back. It is so annoying but I can't get that mad because all I am thinking is thank god she isn't peeing everywhere. Sorry about your bed, OP. I hope she is feeling better soon.
And ladybug-i seriously love your sig pics so much!
