If it weren't for the veggie ones I would swear DD hasn't eaten a veggie in ages. They're all delicious, I snack on them too.
So the veggie ones taste good?
I haven't seen these yet. Kiddo isn't a big applesauce fan though she'll eat all kinds of fruit. She'll eat veggies but prefers fruity pouches, whereas I'm all about cramming extra veggies in whenever I can. She's a fruit bat otherwise.
Did Costco carry veggie ones? Could you get a fruit pack w mixed fruit, not just applesauce?

Yup, the veggie ones taste really good and I can get them at my Costco. DD is a fruitaholic too, she only eats veggies when I mix them into her dinner. I think they're all mixed with apple, but the apple strawberry doesn't taste too applesauce-y, it's much more strawberry to me.
Edit: I think the veggie ones are called Happy Squeeze or something at Costco, they're not the Dole ones.
these just seem not very healthy. Lots of sugar for not a lot of fiber or other stuff.
Of course, the piece of cake I ate last night wasn't, either.
I don't know about others, but they're not my kid's sole source of veggies/fruit/etc. It's a nice thing for car rides though!
There are some nice plum organics pouches that have quinoa or Greek yogurt or other protein. I wish there were more like that, but they're the super pricey ones usually. We freeze squeeze tubes of Greek yogurt but I don't trust her with those w/o supervision.
Most brands of pouches claim to be no sugar added, but apparently that falls under the concentrated fruit juice added. They do lack fiber though. (I've been reading about them lately.) I keep them on hand, but as a snack on the road mainly.
Lol I've messed up though. My little parrot told me off recently. I tried to pass pouches in the car off as dinner because we were out later than planned. She kept telling me "that not dinner mom. That NOT dinner, mommy!" All while shaking her head no. Crap. Just fill your belly and shut up, kid.
I love these - I usually have one or two in my purse in case I'm out and about and need a reasonably healthy snack, plus they're great to eat when you're in the car and hungry
13 grams of sugar and one gram of fiber? an apple is better than that.
Oh, maybe. It says on the package that it's contents are apple and apple concentrate - "all natural" "nothing but fruit and a splash of juice". The costco ones are 12 grams of sugar.
I admit I don't ever focus on sugar consumption, though.

Unsweetened applesauce has the same amount of sugar as a regular apple. It's a little bit lower in fiber, but overall is pretty healthy (at least for food that comes in a pouch...)

There are 13 grams of sugar in a whole apple, too. Only slightly more fiber (3g) probably because of the skin.
I'm the last person around here to know about nutrition, really. But I admit I do get eyerolly when seemingly everything you can possibly eat is poo-poo'd around here. Not singling out suesue.
How did I make it out of childhood?
I am going to start screaming "IT'S BETTER THAN A CHOCOLATE BAR" to everything. lol.

I am so grossed out by this trend. No one gets this shit in my house (and never did when they were younger either). I feel the same thing about go-gurt and any of that other disgusting squeeze-type food.
- the noises people make when they eat them - the actual act of the food squishing out of the packaging - the germs that have to be backwashed into the package - just the whole idea. For me it started with the gogurt BS and the thought of that makes me want to hurl. I can't stomach it. Some foods aren't meant to be eaten on the go. There are a million other options out there, so don't force it.
H and got random pouched foods all the time before we had o. We'd use them as snacks, or take them backpacking. O loves them though. Especially Ella's kitchen parsnip and carrot.
