As I start week 7 of marathon training, I'm needing a little inspiration. Things are fine & I should be happily plugging along, but my body just did not want to get out of bed this morning. (Of course I did.)
With that, I'll resurrect MMM at least for today. Congrats to the marathon grads tuggyruns & jamalynn!!
What marathon are you training for and when?
Training plan for the week?
Favorite foods lately? Do you have "runger" all the time?
Favorite thing to listen to / watch if you're stuck on the treadmill?
What marathon are you training for and when? LWT Marathon, 5.10.14
Training plan for the week?
Monday - 800 repeats. (5 instead of 7) Tuesday- off or easy 3-4 Wednesday - 6 miles with some at marathon pace Thursday - off Friday - 4-5 easy Saturday - probably a cut back week of about 10? Sunday - off or really easy recovery run
Favorite foods lately? Do you have "runger" all the time?
Yes! Lately it's been Greek yogurt, spinach & feta salad, meat, and ALL THE SWEETS.
Favorite thing to listen to / watch if you're stuck on the treadmill?
Audio books & podcasts. Not sure why, but a good story is better for me than TV.
Highlights or AW's from training so far?
No injuries (knock on wood)! 16 miles went well on Saturday.
Low points you need to vent about?
I know I've had it pretty good. I wish getting up early to run got easier as it becomes habit, but no such luck yet!
What marathon are you training for and when? Boston, 04/21
Training plan for the week? M: strength DVD, Tu: 8 w/ 800's, W: 5 & LB strength, Th: 11 & UB strength, F: rest, Sa: Chambersburg Half Marathon, Su: 5 recovery, high rep strength
Favorite foods lately? Do you have "runger" all the time? B/w the 30 miles I ran over the w/e and the snow day today, I want to eat everything. Unfortunately my fridge/pantry is empty, so nothing yummy.
Favorite thing to listen to / watch if you're stuck on the treadmill? I listen to my Ipod playlist. I keep thinking about switching to audio books, but so far I've done okay with just music. I usually play news or talk shows in the background.
Highlights or AW's from training so far? I am enjoying my long runs this training cycle. They seem much easier than usual.
Low points you need to vent about? Not really. I can't complain about the weather too much b/c I'd be on the treadmill anyway due to child care issues. I'm bummed my spin classes keep getting cancelled though.
Oooh, I'll play! My weeks of training about bouncing all over the place -- super solid week, crap week, repeat!
What marathon are you training for and when? Quad Rock 50M, May 10th (that's marathon-ish, right?)
Training plan for the week? Run. Run. Run. I don't have a set training plan and am transitioning into a new job with 4 hours of commuting today...yea, my mileage is suffering!
Favorite foods lately? Do you have "runger" all the time? I will eat anything and everything you put in front of me! I'm on a mashed potato kick right now... I have to pack two lunches for work so I don't die of starvation! Plus my desk drawer is full of snacks from sugar to salt to everything in between!
Favorite thing to listen to / watch if you're stuck on the treadmill? Um. Its been months since I've been on a TM, but if I'm on a TV show kick on Netflix I take my phone with and watch that...or a good audiobook (but I haven't found one as of late - any recs?)
Highlights or AW's from training so far? I PR'ed back-to-back races two Saturday's ago when I ran a 5 mile race followed up by a 10 mile race -- I got over 10 minutes of PR'ing that morning! Then I ran another 13.5 solid miles the next morning...and it felt great!
Low points you need to vent about? I'm fighting to get miles in with the long commuting + friends visiting. It was really frustrating to go from the above AW weekend to a full week of....zero miles until Friday, then finished the week with only 5 miles. It sucks - I had a lot of mojo going for me but life literally got in the way. My body was ready but its not possible to work, commute, entertain, sleep AND run... I'm seriously hoping for next week (er, this week) being a million times better!
What marathon are you training for and when? Gov Cup 6/14 and Air Force Marathon 9/20
Training plan for the week? Taking a running break for a few days, since I just had a IF procedure done yesterday. But I plan on getting on the bike a few times to keep up my stamina.
Favorite foods lately? Do you have "runger" all the time? Always sugar. And hard boiled eggs. lol
Favorite thing to listen to / watch if you're stuck on the treadmill? Listening to my runnings songs or watching music videos on Youtube.
Highlights or AW's from training so far? None yet
Low points you need to vent about? Taking breaks for treatments. I hate trying to balancing marathon training(well running in general) and treatment but both are important to me so I do the best I can.
Oooh, I'll play! My weeks of training about bouncing all over the place -- super solid week, crap week, repeat!

Haha, yes a 50 mile is marathon-ish. Didn't realize our races were the same day until now.

Favorite thing to listen to / watch if you're stuck on the treadmill? Usually pop stations on Pandora
Highlights or AW's from training so far? My achilles is feeling better and I've had a few good runs in the past few days
Low points you need to vent about? I've never had a cavity in my life. Apparently my teeth went to crap this pregnancy because I found out I need to have a root canal now
