No vents. I feel good!
I had a great 20 on Sunday. I decided at mile 10 to make it a pace run, and I'm feeling confident about my new A goal (shooting for a 3:25 vs. a PR)
What are you training for? Date? Hershey 10K 4/13/14
Training plan for the week? M: 2.5 mile run T: Strength; weights at gym W: cross T: 2 mile run and weights F: Rest S: 4 miles S: Cross
Any issues or vents? Just the weather. Running on the treadmill messes with my head. I want to run outside to see how I am doing since I took 6 months off from running.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I am still getting my workouts in even when changing the days. When I trained for the half I was rigid. I am happy I am still getting the workouts in during the week despite the day.
Training plan for the week? Sun: 10, Mon: crossfit, Tues 5 miles, Wed Rest, Thurs sprints, Fri crossfit, Sat 10 miles
Any issues or vents? I need to get some inserts for my new sneaks I think. And this weather needs to change so I can start running outside!
Highlights or AW's from the past week? despite my shoes causing me a bit of discomfort, I managed to run another comfortable 10 miler on Sunday. I have slowed down my pace for the long runs a bit (slower than normal) and it is making a HUGE difference. No need for walk breaks!
What are you training for? Florida Beach Halfathon 3/23
Training plan for the week? Yesterday - 2.5mile bike ride Today - 3 miles w/run club Tomorrow - 6 Thursday - rest Friday -45 minute tempo Saturday - spin Sunday - 12
Nothing notable to share. I have my annual review today so I'm hoping that improves my mood.
What are you training for? Date? Half marathon on 4/27.
Training plan for the week? Attempt to survive another week of treadmill running. In other words, I have no plan. I want two days with 3+ miles and one day with 6+ miles. I don't care which days. I just want to find the motivation to not skip runs this week.
Any issues or vents? I cannot handle the weather anymore. I can handle the snow. I cannot handle subzero temperatures with wind and ice. I am out of motivation for the stupid treadmill and considered skipping spring half marathons entirely, but I know I would regret that decision as soon as it starts to get warm. It will start to get warm one day, right?
M: masters + 45 min run T: 60 min easy spin W: 90 min masters + 1:45 run + hot yoga R: 60 min bike + 30 min run brick + hot yoga F: masters + 60 min bike S: 4:30 bike + 30 min run brick S: rest
Injury/Vents: nothing too bad! My long ride on Sunday was brutal, but as my H reminded me, I'd rather get the tough days in now rather than later.
Highlights: jumped right back in after being sick, and I'm feeling (relatively) good!
What are you training for? Date? Runnin of the Green 4 mile on 3/15, Run the Bluegrass Half on 3/29 Training plan for the week? My plan is to get the majority of my midweek miles in, and bang out at least 10 miles since I skipped it this past weekend. Any issues or vents? My motivation is close to dead. I am looking forward to the race, but it's been so hard training for it, especially with the temps still being so low. I suck. Highlights or AW's from the past week? As of Saturday, I moved into a new age group for most races
What are you training for? Date? Jackson Half Marathon 3/22, NW1/2 4/27, Random 5ks
Training plan for the week? M - "Rest day" - shoveling snow, yoga, and long recovery walk T - 5 miles + strength W - 5 miles + 8x400 at 5k pace Th - Cross F - Rest Sat - 12 miles Sun - 5 miles
Any issues or vents? MORE SNOW, I'm supposed to do a 9 mile mid-week long run, but that isn't happening
Highlights or AW's from the past week? 10 mile PR :drink:  <)
Another cold morning. Remind me I'll miss this come Summer (I won't!) Anyway, hope everyones training is going well.
What are you training for? Date? Boston, April 21st
Training plan for the week? I'm still sore from Sunday's run. Probably some pilates and maybe some cross training with a lot of stretching.
Any issues or vents? I ran my longest distance so far on Sunday-15miles. It was not pretty. I am really sore. I worked all day and ran in the late afternoon/early evening. Its been so freaking cold here. WHEN is the weather going to get above the 20s? I am so tired of training in extreme cold. I am getting pretty discouraged as well. My 2 babysitters have been unavailable during the times I am able to run. My H is away a ton, is gone pretty much the next 2 weeks, and the gym's daycare is open only during the boys nap time. My 22 month old twins are STILL not sleeping through the night. My training have been AWFUL. I've had 2 (!) long runs where I have felt decent. The rest have not been good. Between constant sleep deprivation, lacking childcare, and the crap weather, I am getting more and more nervous for this marathon. Training for Chicago was much easier because I could get out and run at 5am. I can't do that safely now.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I ran 15 miles without giving up! My knees don't hurt anymore, but my IT band is starting to ask for attention.
What are you training for? Date? Gate River Run 15k 3/15/14
Training plan for the week? Making this up as I go! This week is tricky w/work and weather. M: 7 miles + core, T: 6 miles of bridges, W: strength + core, Th: 5 miles if it isn't raining, F: Rest + core, S: 9 miles, S: work travel
Any issues or vents? Highlights or AW's from the past week? My AWs and vents are all grouped together this week! AW w/vent: PR'd my half this weekend & placed 2nd in my AG. However, because the course was long, a 9 sec improvement per mile in pace, only got me a 36 sec PR, when it should have been close to a 2 min PR. The bright side is that my next half PR will be deceptively large! lol
The next vent (but some might see it as an AW) is that it was gorgeous yesterday, but FL needs to slow it's warm weather roll a bit! Our days of mid day running are officially coming to an end. I went out for 7 miles on my lunch break yesterday (worked from home), and it was 83*. I have a sunburn. NOT READY YET!
What are you training for? Date? Summer series (i think. still need to officially sign up lol) Yoga teacher training
Training plan for the week? S-9 miles and yoga M-hiit and yoga T-no idea feel run down bad. Blew off my run. Might blow off yoga too. W-hoping 6-7 mile run and yoga Th-hoping another run and yoga F-hiit and yoga or a walk or who knows. S-3-4 mile run S-7-8 mile run and yoga
Any issues or vents? Run down and weird pain in my leg with a bruise. Only hurts when I tough it but cutting back today just in case.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? Great runs, yoga and mileage last week. :-)

What are you training for? Date?
Boston Marathon, 4/21
Training plan for the week?
Mon: 7 mi Tues: weights, elliptical Wed: off Thursday: 10 miles Fri: weights, elliptical Sat: 5 miles w/ double jogger Sun: TDB
Any issues or vents?
I've never had a cavity in my life. Apparently my teeth went to crap this pregnancy because I found out I need to have a root canal now. I didn't have x-rays at my last cleaning in November, but can't believe this went undetected. I'm like, seriously distraught over this
Highlights or AW's from training so far?
My achilles is feeling better and I've had a few good runs in the past few days. My speed is improving, just need to work on bumping up the mileage.
clseale - I totally agree with your vent/aw I'm already a morning person but the mid-day runs were spoiling me. This weekend I didn't get out on the trail until 11 and recently that wouldn't have been a problem but this weekend it was, and now I have a horrible case of raccoon eyes.

I'm really more of a morning person as well. (Well, on the weekends. I run after work during the week.) It probably would have been gorgeous in the morning, but I lazed around on the couch with my coffee for too long, and then I had to work. It was so nice and sunny out, and I'm never home in the middle of the day, so I was excited for a mid-day run. Nope. Not again until December. LOL
It was RnR Nashville, but now it's the Derby Festival half 4/19. I still plan to run RnR Nashville, but not race it.
Training plan for the week?
M: strength T: 6 mile (3x1600) W: strength Th: rest F: 5 miles S: 3 miles Su: 9 miles
Any issues or vents? My left IT band has been a little sore during my long runs, so I've been focusing on stretching and hip strengthening exercises. I used an IT band compression strap during my run this morning and had zero pain. Fingers crossed that I've fixed the issue.
Highlights or AW's from the past week?
I ran 3 x 1600 this morning at @ 8:57 ! I'm so excited.
What are you training for? Date? Mountain bike season in general. It starts next weekend, but my summer A race isn't until June.
Training plan for the week? Sunday: 25 mile mountain bike ride, Monday: 60 minute trainer ride, Tuesday/Wed.: One day will be a 60 minute moderate trainer ride the other a 3-4 mile walk/run depending on the weather, Thursday-Friday: Off, Sat.: 40 mile gravel grinder, Sunday: 3 hour mountain or road ride
Any issues or vents? I have an aching tooth that needs to come out. The dentist says it's time to go. The 7 year old root canal has finally failed.
What are you training for? Date? Brand new plan: West Point (GA) Olympic Tri 4/27, Ft. Benning Reverse Sprint Tri 5/17, Calf Pasture 70.3 6/22
Training plan for the week? I don't know - DH mapped out a new one for us, but I need to look it over and make some changes to fit my mess of a schedule. Running and biking, no swimming thanks to work and travel. That's ok, swimming is going well enough that I'm comfortable skipping it.
Any issues or vents? My schedule sucks. My achilles is still nagging me.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? My diet seems to be getting back under control and the numbers on the scale are finally going down.
