I just ordered two pair of the same shoe. Usually I buy different colors, so when I am cycling pairs I can tell which goes with which. This time, they only had one color. I am embarrassed to admit this but I HAVE gotten my shoes mixed up when I have two of the same colored pair.
I want to prevent this, esp. since I will probably be wearing both pairs at the same time with the thaw coming up/wet shoes.
So, how do you prevent this? I was thinking, different color laces maybe? Marking them in a hidden area with a Sharpee?
I tried the marking with a sharpie trick and it was a giant failure. It wore off in like 2 seconds and we were back to square one. I like the different color laces idea a lot.
My husband's idea entirely, but he got a bag of those beads you used to make giant ugly necklaces with as kids and takes a pair of matching beads and puts them on the laces. So he knows he's currently running in the 'purple bead' shoes, not the 'yellow bead' shoes. Works really well actually.
I used to have this problem too, fortunately my current shoes come in a lot of colors. I have gray, purple/pink, purple/lime, and hot pink. (Half of which are still in boxes.) I buy different colors on principle, even if I like them less than a color I've already had.
