Right now. Walking & GBCNing. On the path. 45 mins into 1:45. I'm actually crying a little too. I am sick again. I was convinced it was allergies, but I can barely breathe and run. Swimming this am was so hard.perfdcf time of my life to start working with germy preschoolers that want to cobra in my doggone face.
I'm so scared guys! I'm like 10 weeks out! Wtf is wrong with me?!
Hugs Kams. I think we have all been there walking and coming undone during a long run that wasn't meant to be. (Or at least I have.) Can you bail on it and try again another day?

Hugs. You have 10 weeks. 10 weeks is a LONG time. You've got this. Did you try to build yourself back up to training after being sick, or did you just jump right in where your training calendar says you should be right now? Maybe you need a few days to ease back in. A morning swim and 1:45 run right after coming back from illness sounds like a lot.
Just because today isn't your day doesn't mean that race day won't be your day. You're getting your "off" days out of your system now and you are going to be a superstar 10 weeks from now. You have plenty of time. We've all been there. Five weeks out from my last marathon, I stopped an hour into a 12 mile run and cried and had a panic attack in the middle of the path. I just couldn't run, and certainly not fast. I freaked. I jog/walked home, cried it out, and took the next day off. If you're sick and/or exhausted, its ok to take an off/easy day. Or to reschedule your long run if you're just not feeling it.
Take a step back, take a deep breath, and regroup for the next one. You've got this.
((HUGS)) You're amazing. Be kind to yourself, kams. It is a long (bad ass) road you are on. It's going to be a roller coaster. Don't let these days shake you. They will make you stronger, and you will be just fine.
Sorry you had a bad run We've all been there. Sticking it out for 1:30 is AMAZING. Get a little rest and hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow or by the w/e. 10 weeks is still a ton of time, and you have a really strong base already. You are doing great!
Thanks girls. I keep thinking (*disclaimer: very dramatic*) that the scale of struggling through an hour and a half when my race will likely be ~14+ hours is like training for a half marathon and struggling to run 1 mile, months into your training cycle. I know that it isn't entirely relatable, but I'm just feeling defeated.
Crawling in to bed to nap with DD, and looking forward to a couple of days to reboot.
Hugs, kams. This has been a winter of hellish, never-ending colds for me too. But some runs just suck, esp when you're sick, so just let it go. Just think of today as a workout in mental toughness and fortitude. You have a very strong base and plenty of time; rest up and you will be fine!
(((Hugs))) kams! It is difficult what you are doing and it's ok to have some bad days. Just focus! You can do this. Give yourself a day or 2 to get better and then get back at there.
I'm sorry I have totally been there on a long run, minus the GBCNing (and only because I didn't have my phone probably!) Once long run won't doom you. You got this! ((hugs))
I'm so sorry you had a bad day. Rest up, and reset when you feel better...I know it doesn't seem like it but you do have lots of time! Wipe this workout from your memory. It won't matter in the end.
I'm proud of you for saying you'll take tomorrow off. You need that!
Mostly I'm so proud of your ambition, strength, & guts. We all have bad workouts, but it sounds like you've toughed through most of it anyhow. You can do this, and we're here whenever you need to chat.
Last - I know it's annoying to hear, but the bad workouts make you tougher & show you how much you can push through.
((((((H&F))))))) thanks so much for your sweet words, and for not eye-rolling my dramatics.
joenali I'm glad someone picked up on my lame attempt at humor. But seriously, those little rascals are all over me!
coconutbug - augh you've got to be just as frustrated as I am!!!! Part of me sometimes wonders if my body is telling me I can't do it, or if it's just a really sick winter. Every few years I get hit hard, and unfortunately this seems to be one of those years.
I am so sorry. Rest. You need rest and not resting will make you not better.
Also, I think we should go out for a margarita. Because as well all know, lime+salt+tequila is basically medicine. It will cure you. And then some pho.

Your body CAN do it. This winter is just a bitch and needs to end ASAP. That is all.
The good news is that we have all been there. The even better news is that you're going to be fine. *hugs* get some rest...you know a couple of days invested now will pay off later.

Hugs kams You've put in so much hard work already, and you still have a good amount of time left to go. Be easy on yourself. Like taratru said, invest a couple days now to recover, then you can move steam ahead.
This is the worst. I just tell myself on days like this "it's just time on your tootsies" that counts the most! NOW, get some rest so you can get back at it at full speed, 10 weeks out is PLENTY of time
I'm like you in the non-drama aspect, that's not how I work either, so I find when I do have a fit of dramatics it's probably very warranted and time to take a breather. Hope today is a better day!
