I'm really upset with DHL. To try to keep a long story short, I had to figure out a way to have my packages delivered to somewhere other than my apartment. A few months ago I learned about DHL's packstation service. Basically, I use an address for a local packstation, along with my DHL card ID # and I receive an email when a package is delivered to the packstation and 8 days to pick it up.
The problem is that I lost my card right before I had three packages sent to me. One of the packages was from the states and the shipping was quite high. I called DHL to have a replacement sent and to extend the 8 day hold. I never received the card (it was only supposed to take 3 days). It's been 2 weeks, I've reordered the card two more times and extended the hold for all the packages each time I called. It turns out that they only held one package, so two of the packages have been returned to sender. I have no idea which packages have been returned. They can't send the packages to any other place except back to the sender. They can't send my card to the post office for me to pick up, they can't send the card with some sort of tracking mechanism. They've offered no solutions except to continue to send me a card I'm not receiving and put packages on hold that they aren't actually holding. They don't seem concerned that this card, which is shipped via DHL, isn't reaching me. I'm wondering what other mail I've been missing.
On top of this, when I call I have to pay for the call and I'm on hold for soooo long waiting for an agent. I'm just frustrated with this whole mess.
QOTD: I don't really have a favorite, I always switch preferences.

Oh man Turtle, that stinks. I´ve never had a package sent to a packstation. Just seems easier to have them try and deliver it to my house. And if I´m not home they usually leave it with my neighbor.
I´m busy working on a translation and playing on the net. QOTD: Blue. i love me some blue...
ETA: ktkl, have a great trip! Hopefully you'll get a good movie on the flight.
Me: I'm wallowing in self pity again. It's basically a repeat of Friday. Except I am happy because on Friday DH was actually able to get the car figured out, so now we have a car. That is on positive thing.
Other than that I'm just getting ready for the trip next week. Can't wait to see my family and for everyone to meet DD!
QOTD: I think I'd have to say purple. Lately I'm a big fan.

Glitter, yeah, we had a lot of issues with packages sent to our apartment directly. This has been easier. It's my own fault for losing the card in the first place. I remember seeing it before we went on vacation last month, but can't remember. We've cleaned the whole house looking for it, which is probably the only good thing.
Working on the dissertation today and I have an interview to become a coach of a junior high school student (organization mostly aimed at immigrant families of which the kids are having trouble in school sort of a big sib thing). Busy cleaning the house too. Turned out our kitten had LOTS of flees so I went to the vet yesterday after catching 24 by hand and bought some medicine. Now the dead fleas fall of of her which is gross. So CLEANING!!!!! Tonight I have a political meeting about wind energy again.

I just had a reminder of why I don't have packages sent here. I live in a building with at least 15-20 other people. Most of the time, I end up being the person who signs for other packages. It's not convenient, because of the way the apartment is set up, for me to get to the door to sign for the packages. On top of that, when I'm not here to sign for my own package, I've only had one or two instances where someone else was home to sign for mine (and that person has since moved). So I get the fun job of being the mail service here and don't get the convenience of getting my mail unless I'm home. Then, since I have other people's packages, it means my doorbell ringing at odd hours (odd only because I have a toddler, perhaps if I didn't have a kid it wouldn't be so bad) and when it's cold out, I have to get my son dressed up so he can go with me to sign (because it does involve going outside for a bit). And I'm guaranteed that the doorbell will ring during his nap or when he's sleeping. It's just not worth it. Even after this whole mess with the card, once I finally have a card in my possession, I will continue to have things delivered to the packstation.
I know I'm going on and on, but I just had to sign a package for a neighbor because I answered my doorbell and I had stopped answering my doorbell because it's never anything for me. I only answered because I had hoped that maybe DHL actually took care of the situation.
Plus, when it's often that non-post people ring the doorbell to get access to the building and oftentimes that means they need to borrow my keys to get into different areas of the basement. It's just annoying so anything I can do to lessen the number of times I actually answer the front door, I'll do it.
Turtle you got to stop answering the bell. Haha. I would absolutely never answer the door or let anyone in unless it was specifically for me. You've become the door lady of your building.
I will answer it somewhat more often now that we live in Chicago. Because I can at least usually have 100% communication now.

I only answered it when I was expecting a package. And, I do a lot of online ordering/get packages from my parents. It's why I switched to the packstation to pick up packages instead. But, I thought when my bell rang today that MAYBE it was DHL delivering my card for the packstation. Even though they told me that it would come via regular mail, I wanted to believe that they were wrong on this just as they had been wrong on everything else.

Haha. Hopefully you will finally be victorious and get your new card.
Sorry about the package mess ktk, have you sent a letter/email to higher ups there to complain, especially about the fact that they didn't actually hold your packages. Good luck!
I cracked the hell out of phone screen yesterday as I was leaving. Phones and tile floors do not mix. Now I'm trying to decide whether it it worth paying $68 to fix the screen if I'm leaving and won't need the phone in 2 months.
I had a Doc. appt. yesterday. I had looked up something online about a medication that I had to stop taking because of an allergic reaction and from what I found online the allergic reaction could have been a result of taking the generic (fillers). Doc. dismissed this immediately and switched me to a new one. I really felt like this medication was doing what it was supposed to, so I'm a little peeved that she was so quick to switch me. Anyone else feel like it is extremely difficult to get doctor's to actually listen? This doctor also isn't able to do much for me in the way of considering different BC and suggested I make an appointment with a Gyno. which is kind of a hassle considering I just got the yearly stuff out of the way with this other doc. and don't want to schedule one more doctor's appointment.
On a happier note I called the Doc. that H was referred to for his knee issues and they are accepting him as a patient. I got an appointment scheduled, H wants me to reschedule now. We aren't guaranteed that they will actually do the surgery H's previous doctor thought he would be a candidate for so this could be for nothing, but I'm hoping for the best, because living with H with a bum knee is in general not a good time.
QOTD: Blue, pretty much any shade, I love them all.

Update to my situation, for those following along:
I spoke to a supervisor today. She is manually mailing my card, so we'll se what happens. She's also had my package moved from the packstation to the local post office and I can pick it up tomorrow.
I had sent an email a while ago and heard nothing back. Once it's all resolved, I'm going to send another email. I was thinking of sending it via their complaint email box along with the message that if I don't hear a response in a week, I'll forward this email to all the VPs for DHL since all of their email addresses are on the website. But, I don't know if that's just crazy.

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's evening here now, I had an uneventful day and it will be an uneventful evening. I did just go out for a run. C25K week 2 day 3, yay! So that means I graduated to week 3, which scares me. running 3 minutes in a row, oh my goodness...
QOTD: Black I guess. And I like burgundy and dark purples. Dark colors pretty much.
