Compared to the dozens of other products on my list, I like this look the best and the reviews are mostly great.
BUT...those two or so bad reviews have me nervous due to the specific complaint: the slightly beveled edge. It's meant to give it the look of pre-finished hardwood. The rare negative reviews say the bevel edges make it less impervious to spills since liquid collects there, and that unnoticed spills caused the laminate to peel up. Since I have two little boys, a baby on the way, and a geriatric dog, I need a floor that can handle a little puddle that I don't find immediately.
I had Pergo in our first house but it was a square edge board, so the surface was seamless. It could handle spills and anything else like a champ.
I've looked until I'm blue in the face, but if I go with a square edge product, I'm going to have to either sacrifice color/appearance that I want, or thickness and wear rating (down to 7 or 8 mm), or brand ratings/ease of installation.
I just can't find a nice, thick, well-rated square-edge product in a lighter and subtler grain.
Any thoughts? I'm sure I'm over thinking, but we're covering significant square footage and I want to get it right.

I would say, if you're concerned, don't go with it. We had considered a bevel edged prefinished floor, until the store suggested that it might not be the easiest to keep clean {dirt in the grooves and such}. If you have doubts don't do it.
We had beveled laminate in a previous house and had no problems at all with the bevels. Regular vacuuming gets any dirt out of the bevels, and as long as you clean up spills as they happen, there shoulsnt be any issues.
Thanks for weighing in. I intend to keep it dry, but every now and then the dog sneaks up if the kids leave the gate open and we don't find an accident right away.
