When she died, my grandma left me her desk, which was originally her mother's. Shortly after her service two years ago, I cleaned the desk out and found lots of cool treasures: herTiffany's calling cards, all the letters I ever sent her, old letters from my grandfather, pictures, a roll of tape from the 1940s... Random, but really special stuff. We have very little room in our house, but finally made space for it.
I picked it up from my parents' house on Thursday, and my dad and I took the drawers out to move it. Evidently, two years ago, I missed a drawer because when I looked today, I found 17 pressed four-leaf clovers tucked away.
then I immediately sat down and cried, and remembered all of the picnics we used to go on. She was so careful to step over patches of clover, and would very meticulously pick through patches, to find one with four leaves. I never knew that she saved every single one of them.
My sisters decided that I was going to inherit my grandmother's hope chest that she kept at the foot of her bed. My youngest sister had it at her house for almost a decade (couldn't bother shipping it to me and I waited until I moved to WA and DH and I decided to drive back from her memorial service and funeral) and never went through it in all the time she had it. When I got it home it had the family photographs, my great-grandmother's funeral book, newspaper articles of my dad back in his high-school days and all sorts of stuff that I absolutely adore having.
I love that you have this stuff to remember your grandmother by.

That's awesome! I love that you want to share them with the family.
We're just starting to go through my grandparents house, and my mom and I found a box of love letters that date back to 1959, before they had any kids.
I love this. I still keep a box of every letter my grandfather wrote me and I cry every time I read them because they seem to always have new meaning. If I found something like that, it would be such a gift.
Not sure if you'd be into this at all, but have you thought of putting on into a locket?
