I have dry skin. I use Kiehl's creme de corps and love it.
But I am not quite as diligent in applying as much as I need. I probably need to do it daily. Once in the am and once at night.
I decided to apply Kiehl's sunless tanner.
I'm no rookie to orange streaks so I decided to try just my feet/legs first.
Attempt #1:
I cut it with regular lotion (creme de corps) to see if I could do just a subtle color. I am SO white. I have to be careful.
It didn't show up. Too much reg. lotion.
Attempt #2
Little more brazen. Try more. Also add a tinnny bit to my face moisturizer. Can't really tell with my makeup on. Might be a teeeeny bit more color. Can't be sure.
Legs are still white. Maybe 3% more color. Did manage to make an orange streak on my inner right arm. So, I know it works.
One splotch on my leg.
I tried very hard to mix it evenly and apply it evenly.
I want to ramp it up and add more to the lotion ratio - but I don't want more splotches.
Is my skin just too dry?
Am I just too big of an idiot to apply it evenly?
I let it air dry while I got ready. I didn't smear/press on my legs before it was dry, I don't think. It is possible the one small splotch on the leg was still damp I guess. In the light I caught that there was a little bit of lotion not totally rubbed in. I think it was that area. I waited a long time, though.
Any tricks? Anyone else have this issue. I can tell the product is fantastic. It's just me and my application.

I use the St Tropez line and I feel like it does the best at not being streaky. Did you exfoliate like crazy? Before your next application, I'd take a week of exfoliating when you shower and using a ton of lotion to moisten your skin. I use the cheap gloves for exfoliating with an oatmeal soap and keep a container of coconut oil in the shower to use right after I dry off. If I'm super dry, then I'll put lotion on. Stupid Colorado.

Stupid Colorado.
Ugh.
That seems like so much work. And you have to keep doing it or the tan will fade. I wish I could just rub it on every couple of days and be done with it. Lol.
I am SO lazy.
I don't ever exfoliate. I know the answer here. lol.
GET THE MITT. Seriously, it is so much better with it.
Any mitt? I'll give it a whirl.
I use the same one Gator posted from sephora and like it. Plus, my hands don't get all orange-y!
Re: exfoliating. Just go to king soopers and get the gloves from their shower gel section (by the loofahs). I just use those every day instead of a wash cloth or loofah to get the dry skin in the winter. I can stop using them in the summer once we get some moisture in the air.
