As my body continues to heal from my marathon on 3/2 (I finally can walk normal) I feel the need to have a plan of some sort.
I'm not sure where I want to go from here, athletically. I want to run another marathon (faster), but I am not sure if it's in the cards this year b/c we planned on TTC after Napa.
I need to get healthy (running wise), and ideally, I'd like to drop some weight (5-10lbs) in the next few months before get KU.
I like riding my bike and swimming outside during these warmer months, but work schedules can make that difficult, but I did think about training for some sprint tris...and focusing on shorter distance running but keeping my long runs in the 8-10 range.
You could be like me and sign up for a Tour de Cure lol. My uncle got me in the post-marathon high on the day I ran my last marathon and convinced me to sign up. I didn't even have a bike yet.
You know it! I'll be out soon! I was on your page trying to figure out when everything kicks off. Went out to Stone Mountain this weekend and rode 19, including the upper loop. I'm sorely out of cycling shape (not that I ever got in it!)

This week! Most rides are leaving at 6 or 6:15 until April. PM me if you want to know about a specific ride.
I vote for do whatever you want to do as long as it includes stretching and getting extra sleep. I did consecutive races and wish I hadn't signed up immediately after a race for the next one because it is really exhausting and you need time to mentally and physically recover.

This is a MAJOR problem for me right now.. I'm getting very little sleep...we're in temporary housing b/c we sold our house and didn't find anything else yet and I'm not sleeping well...er, at all..

I saw the post title and was going to come in and say "you get pregnant, duh". It's been my choice after my last couple marathons and seems popular among others as well.
But I see you've already considered that option, lol.
There are a bunch of sprint tris around this time of year. That sounds like a fun option. Are you going to run Peachtree?

I think I am really leaning towards a sprint tri! Already registered for the Peachtree!
GL on the sprint tri's. I am running the Publix half next weekend (last minute thing). I am currently just trying to work on speedwork each week.
You read my mind! I am still thinking about doing Publix too b/c my sister wanted me to run w/her, but I don't think it's going to happen. My shins are too sore still. Going to hopefully see the massage therapist soon!
After my marathon in the fall, I really enjoyed just running because I felt like it, whatever distance I felt like.
I like this idea too, I like the idea of "training" for a shorter race b/c if I go longer b/c I feel like it, it usually helps me.
However, I ran last night for the first time and my shins are still REALLY sore. I think they still need another week off, unfortunately. I'm already itching to be back out there, but I know my body needs time to heal. I'm looking into a master swim team for now and cycling group rides for the next month or so.
