That we're going on vacation to Florida yet. She's only three and doesn't understand time yet, so every.single.morning for the last two weeks, she asks if we're going to Florida today, then either has a temper tantrum or mopes when I say no, not yet. I'm glad she's excited about going, but the daily fits about it is getting a little old. Probably should have waited until this weekend to tell her. Yes, this probably could have gone in a randoms post. I am curious though, when do kids really start understanding time? I've tried the 'x number of sleeps' tactic with her but that doesn't seem to work as she wakes up and it's the first question out of her mouth.

Could you make a calendar for her? Maybe just a piece of paper with blocks or something on it, and cross one block out every morning when she wakes up? IDK, maybe that would make it worse.

I was thinking something like this or one of those paper chains where she could rip one off everyday would help her.

Oh yeah, that's what the Man with the Yellow Hat did for George in the Christmas special.
There's a "you know you're a mom when" moment. LOL
mandy0810 I LOVE that idea, as well as the calendar idea that pantsparty mentioned. She's a visual kid so that would likely help her understand.

My 2yo can freaking recite the Christmas special by heart.
Christmas monkey, Christmas monkey, there are no songs about Christmas monkeys...

Aw - just think ahead to how excited she's going to be when it really is the day!
I am excited that SHE is so excited to go. The last three trips she had no idea what was going on, we just dragged her around with us in airplanes and then HEY there's grandma and grandpa. Ha
The grands are 8 and 10. We're going to San Diego in June. They aren't letting up on "can we shop for the trip?" "How long until we go to San Diego?" IOW, it doesn't get better.
Can you make a paper chain to count down and every morning she gets to take a link off? You can even be extra pinterest worthy and put a little fact or ask a question about the trip on each link. What games will you play with Grandma? Is Florida hotter or colder than where we live? etc...
