It's a really quick procedure, but I feel like the whole deal (waiting, getting to the room, changing, doctor intros, whatever) probably added up to about an hour? The actual hsg itself is like 6 minutes.

It took about 30 minutes from check in to walking out for me. And definitely have pantyliners ready to go. Also take a couple of ibuprofen/tylenol pills before hand. Made mine easy and relatively comfortable.
Changing into the gown is what took the longest. The girl came out crying before I went in, so I was working myself up that this was going to be a big painful thing. It wasn't bad though, only a little discomfort.
Ditto the others - mine took about 15 min, just b/c one of my tubes was "slow" or "blocked" and they had to push the dye through again. But it was really cool to watch it on the monitor!
And yes, period-like cramps the day after and blue dye coming out!
The procedure itself was pretty quick. Mine was incredibly painful but I had some problems (They found a uterine septum) and I think that might have contributed to the pain. It hurt so bad I almost passed out. Good luck to you.
