I ran 7.5miles Sunday, M=crosstrain, Today=workout fail (thanks DST). I'm going to do a couple of shorter runs later in the week and crosstrain another day.
My vent is that my work schedule this week is kicking my butt and messing with my workouts. I also feel like I'm floundering around with "training"- I don't really have a plan since I'm trying to build a mileage base.
What are you training for? Date? Hershey 10K April 13
Training plan for the week? M: 4 Miles T: 2 miles W: Cross T: 2 miles and weights F: Rest S: 4.5 miles
Any issues or vents? Weather. Yesterday and today are in the 50s and then snow and cold remaining week. Ugh!
Highlights or AW's from the last week? Weather and plans caused me to move long run to yesterday. So glad it did. I ran outside in 55 degree weather. I am much slower than a year ago but I still felt good.
B&A half 3/30 I've given up on a training plan. Just trying to get some quality miles in. Vents? Oh yeah I've got them! Darker mornings, the dang stomach virus, and back pain to start. Really it's not THAT bad but I have just been a grump
Training plan for the week? Sun rest (ski), mon errands, tues crossfit, wed 4 mile run, thurs crossfit (may be replaced by a TM run if we are snowed in...), Fri rest, Sat 5K
Any issues or vents? No injuries but I am needing a break from long runs for a week. Running 11 on Saturday was BRUTAL. my mind was not in it.
Highlights or AW's from the last week? despite completely wanting to skip my last 11 miler on saturday, I stuck it out and finished, even after getting off the TM at 6 miles and throwing in the towel. I got back on 5 minutes later and finished it out.
What are you training for? Date? 10K April 6th and Duathlon on May 17 are next up
Training plan for the week? Ran 6 miles (test run for 10K) on Sunday, hour bike Monday, Bike technique class wednesday, 3 mile interval run on Thursday, TRX on Friday and a Swim/Bike brick on Saturday! Any issues or vents? My hip is so tight I feel like I'm walking funny. Going to try and foam roll at least three times today Highlights or AW's from the last week? My 6 mile run went awesome on Sunday, first outdoor run in Chicago of the year.
Training plan for the week: Yesterday- bike ride 4.5m Today- 3 miles w/run club Tomorrow- 5 miles Thursday- rest Friday- 7 miles Saturday- spin Sunday- 8
Ran 12 miles on Sunday (farthest distance!) at an 11min pace so now I'm contemplating what is going to be realistic going into my first half.
What are you training for? Date? RNR DC Half this weekend! CB 10 miler 4/6
Training plan for the week? Mon - Rest, Tues - 4M, Wed- 2M, Thur - Rest, Fri - Rest, Sat - Race day!
Any issues or vents? DD has been sleeping like crap lately so we decided to sleep train. It's going well, but we're stil not sleeping too great. I hope she sleeps ok the night before my race
Also, I'm a little worried/sad that a PR may not be in the cards this weekend. We'll see. I can't tell if my pace is there since my long runs keep getting disrupted by getting lost or ice/snow or mud. I need a good place to run in Springfield! I PRed my first half 2 years ago and have yet to top that yet. I'm at the same weight I was then, maybe lower and running about the same amount. I'm not sure what's up.
Highlights or AWs from the last week? Weight loss has been going well since coming back from vacation and eating better. I'm seeing numbers that I haven't seen since high school! It feels awesome!

What are you training for? Date?
Boston (4/21)
Training plan for the week?
No real plan. Like usual, I'm shooting for an hour of cardio each day and hopfully a couple weights sessions. I want my "long" run to be at least 12 miles this week.
Any issues or vents? First week in a while that I can't think of anything to put here!
Highlights or AW's from the last week?
Last week went pretty well. I hit about 30 miles total and weights x2.
What are you training for? Date? -Olympic tri, 4/26, Reverse sprint tri 5/17, 70.3 6/22
Training plan for the week? I'm on the road this week, so it's all running all week -Mon 3 miles & strength - tues easy 45 minutes Wed 3.5 Thurs 4 Fri rest Sat 8 forgot Sun Crosstrain
Any issues or vents? Nope
Highlights or AW's from the last week? I feel more relaxed and confident in my training since I decided to bail on the April 70.3. I think I was way too far gone mentally for that race.
Training plan for the week? M: Cross Train class, Bike to work T: Run W: Cross Train class, Run Th: Run, Bike to work Fri: Cross Train class, Bike to Work Sat: Run Sun: Off
Any issues or vents? I need to start putting the actual run in my run days.
Highlights or AW's from the last week? hrmmm... no
I'm resting this week, mostly. Doing a nice 5 mile tonight in the daylight (!!) after work, maybe another 3-4 mile once more later in the week.
I'm a little worried that my premature taper will hurt me, but I think I'll be ok. I didn't post about it here, but I had an incident while running a week ago that scared me out of running alone for the week. So it was a whole week of rest two weeks before the race.
This week was scheduled as a recovery week. Since I've been so sick, I am going to go ahead and do it as a recovery week to ease back in to big volume next week. M: Masters + 60 min run T: 90 min ride W: 90 min Masters + hot yoga R: 60 min ride + 30 min run brick + hot yoga F: Masters + 90 min run S: 3 hr ride S: rest
Vents: just being sick. I wonder when I actually am supposed to train for this race instead of just rest?
What are you training for? Date? Nike Womens Half DC. April 27.
Training plan for the week? Getting back into the swing of things, need to push out 8 this weekend.
Any issues or vents? I got my IUD inserted last Wednesday and wasn't able to go to the gym until yesterday. It sucked getting off of my schedule, but I felt really good yesterday. I think I needed the rest.
Highlights or AW's from the last week? No more hormones for me!

What are you training for? Date? Christie Clinic- University of Illinois Half Marathon, April 26
Training plan for the week? It's down week! Today: 4 miles Wednesday: 3 miles Thursday: 5 miles Saturday: 5 Mile St. Patty's Race Sunday: 4-6 miles
Any issues or vents? All but 2 runs have been on the treadmill and I've been getting so much faster. I was able to do a 4 mile run at an 10:30pace (compared to a 12:00 pace before starting training). But Sunday, I just couldn't find my groove on my long run. After 5.5 miles, I was done. I was sick and it was way earlier in the morning than I usually run, but totally discouraged that I won't be able to hit my PR in the half- when just a week ago, I did 8 miles at a 10:47pace and felt amazing. WTF??
Highlights or AW's from the last week? Weightloss is going great and this week is down week so I"m hoping my body really does "re-energize" for the 2nd half of training.

What are you training for? Date? Cascade Lakes Swim Series - August 1-3
Training plan for the week? Masters Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
Any issues or vents? My new masters coach (they keep switching out the night practice coaches like we're some sort of unwanted hangers-on) gave us a 2400 yard workout last night. 1700 of that was IM. DUDE. I hate IM. I'll do it because I *do* need to improve, but man did it ever suck. It literally took me an hour an a half to do 2400 yards. Sigh.
Highlights or AW's from the last week? I got nothing.
What are you training for? Date? 5k this weekend, Boston 4/21
Training plan for the week? M: 11 w/ 4x1200 T: 8.5 hills with stroller, upper body strength & core (I'm counting those hills as my LB strength) W: rest Th: 10 on the TM, lower body strength F: 8 on TM/stroller, upper body & core Sa: 5k race Su: 18 with 14 at mp
Any issues or vents? Nope
Highlights or AW's from the last week? Running in decent weather again! Love it!
Training for Austin 1020 10-miler 4/13, Beach to Bay relay marathon 5/17
M - lift T - rest W - 8 mile tempo run Th - lift F - 5 mile recovery S - 8 miles S - 15 miles
Highlights/vents/whatevers: Had a great time at my first 10k this weekend. I'm also starting to get my long run paces consistently sub-9:00, which is nice to see. I'm upping my mileage for the next 4 weeks and then will do a light taper for this 10 mile race because I've had the best success getting faster when my training volume goes up.

Highlights or AW's from the last week? I was really happy with last Sunday's 10 miler. It's the first time I've ever done such a long run at the end of a 5-run week. My legs felt a lot better than I thought they would, and I managed to make it 10 miles in our neighborhood (trails are still snow-covered) which I never thought would happen.
What are you training for? Date? Urban environmental 10k on 4/13
Training plan for the week?
M - PT and rest T- 4m and maybe restorative yoga W - PT and rest Th - yoga class Fri - 3m easy run Sat - yoga class Sun - 6m
Any issues or vents? Still working on tight calves and pain in my ankles. It switched sides because I was overcompensating.
Highlights or AW's from the last week? I had a great 5 mile run down by the river this weekend. The weather was perfect, I had minimal ankle pain, and I was just happy the whole run.
What are you training for? Date? Cherry Blossom 10 Miler 4/6
Training plan for the week? Run 3, 4, 3 miles, rest, run 3 miles, run 5-6 miles, yoga on Sunday. Boot camp class in addition to the 4 miler today.
Any issues or vents? It's dark in the morning again But it's light in the evening, so I suppose I could run on my trail, or on The Mall if I run after work My LLL shorts/skirts no longer fit me But I bought 2 blossom print skirts from Running Skirts and dug out 2 other skirts that were a little too big but fit me again
Highlights or AW's from the last week? Ran 8 miles on Saturday and felt pretty good!

Training for the Run the Bluegrass Half on 3/29. This week's plan - 3 miles + stretches and strength, 5 miles w/3@hmp, 2 miles, 4 mi race on Saturday. Not sure what my long run should be.
Vent - work is messing with my head and energy. I'm thinking I'll stick to shorter distances for the winter and spring.
Highlight - even though I goofed and ran too far, my 12 mile on Sunday felt good. Slow, but good.
What are you training for? Date? Mountain bike racing. I've pushed back my race season til the end of the month. I was going to race this weekend, but the weather is supposed to be rainy and gross.
Training plan for the week? Sunday-40 mile road ride, Monday: 90 minute recovery ride & core work, Tuesday: 25 mile hilly group ride, Wed.: Off, Thursday: Either 25 mile hilly group ride or 60 minutes on the trainer w/intervals (depends on the weather), Friday: Off, Sat.: Depends on the weather (was supposed to race)
Any issues or vents? The above mentioned weather is screwing with my plans to race my mountain bike this weekend.
Highlights or AW's from the last week? I did a 4 hour gravel grinder ride on Sat.
