If your doctor isn't worried, try not to get hung up on the numbers. Everyone gains weight differently. I know the whole weight gain thing messes with your mind and I obsess about it from time to time, but it is what it is.
My weight gain slowed down after the anatomy scan, so right around where you are right now. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday (~28 weeks) and my weight was the exact same as it was the previous month. Try not to stress. If you'd gained 40 pounds by now, I'd be concerned but 20 pounds at the halfway mark is within the realm of normal, especially if your weight stabilizes.
It seems like everyone gains at different rates and at different times. At the halfway point I had gained just about 4 pounds, and since then I've been gaining at a rate of about two pounds per week! I'm not doing very much different (okay, when my food aversions finally started fading I did get a little enthusiastic) so I figure it's just what my body needs at this stage.

Eat as healthily as you can and know that your body is going to do what it's going to do. No point in stressing out about weight gain when you can't do much (aside from more veggies and less pop tarts) about it.

I did go to the store today and buy bananas instead of Cheez-It Snack Mix, so I figure every little bit counts.
I have too, ugh. But, like the others have said, as long as you're being as healthy as possible, it might just be what your body needs right now. I'm trying not to stress too much about it. I'm also nervous about gaining too much, but my doctor said she isn't worried about it yet.
I had gained 20 pound by 20 weeks. I'm closer to 40 pounds now, and will probably be 45 by the time the baby gets here. People who know me are shocked when I tell them I've gained 40 pounds. They say the only difference they can see is my bump (obviously) and my face is a little fuller. I can tell that I have a good layer all over, but I think that's mostly from fluid retention.
Anyway, my doctor isn't worried, even though she originally told me she only wanted me to gain 15-25 pounds (what?!?!) so I'm not too worried. I know the more I gain, the more I'll have to lose after, but I'm prepared for that. Right now I'm just kind of going with it.

After my second appointment, I asked my OB nurse and doc to not share my weight numbers with me, and I look away when getting on the scale. For me, it feels mentally healthier just not to know what I'm gaining. I know that if she's concerned, she'll let me know and I'll focus on it more.

Unless your doctor brings it up, and you are eating relatively healthy and not gorging yourself on sweets day in and day out, I would try not to worry about it too much (says the girl who was up 20 pounds at 25 weeks and got the weight talk from her doctor at that point to be careful about what I eat).

Yeah, I go in tomorrow and have gained 12 pounds according to my scale, which I'm sure will translate to 20 at the doctor. Considering I'm only 24.5 weeks and was told to gain 15-20 pounds at the most, I'm gearing up for a lecture. Sigh. I feel I'm eating fairly healthily, but am working on lowering my sugar intake which has skyrocketed since pre-pregnancy. It just tastes so.damn.good.
I think it sounds like a lot, but I've noticed that most women I know put on at least 40lbs during the pregnancy instead of 25ish. I suppose it depends what you are eating and how much you weighed to begin with. But as the others said, if you are eating healthy foods, getting at least moderate exercise, and your doc isn't worried, then I wouldn't worry about it all!
I'm up about 15 lbs and I'm only 16 weeks. So I understand your concern. I gained the most in the first trimester because I couldn't work out and all I could stomach was carbs and bad carbs. Now that I'm feeling better I'm making better choices and I'm back to working out. That's all I can really do at this point, so that's what I tell myself. My goal is to make the healthiest choice most of the time and to keep moving.

Yeah, what's up with the scale at the doctor's office?!? It's not only higher than my scale at home, but it shows that I've gained more! I know that I'm full of breakfast and wearing clothes (and boots--will winter ever end?!) at the doctor's office, but shouldn't the relative amount gained be the same?
I'm totally wearing ballet flats to my next appointment regardless of the weather, lol.
I'm up 20 and I don't really GAF. If I have to work extra hard to lose it later then so be it. FWIW, I gained at the same pace with DS1 and had no trouble losing it all.

I'm chiming in here. I had to run errands at lunch and forgot to pack food since I had a change in routine this morning. So I had to eat out. I was in Target and saw their little food counter. My least-awful option was pasta with meat sauce from the pizza hut rack. I opened it only to find it had like a 1/2" layer of mozz on top. I PEELED IT OFF AND DIDN'T EAT IT. I kind of want a medal.
