I think several of us are running the DC Rock n Roll half marathon this weekend. Holla!
The current weather prediction is for race weather in the 40s (predicted morning low is 42 degrees; race starts at 7:30 am). Shorts or crops? I'm probably going to wear a tank plus arm warmers and gloves on top.
Because of DST, it will still be fairly dark by the start of the race and I think it's going to be cloudy.
I'm going with capris definitely. I hate having my legs cold. Still debating about what to wear on top. I like the idea of arm warmers, but I don't know if any of H's socks will work (must investigate)
The high is only going to be 50 for the day. So I'm curious where you got the 42 prediction.

I got it from weather.com, but it will probably keep changing.
weather.gov was saying low 60s for the high on saturday last time I checked.
I'll probably wear a tank, arm warmers/kneesocks (I've got a pair of knee socks with holes in the heel that I've earmarked for this occaision.), and capris. probably with a throw away tee.
not sure if I'm going to check a bag or not. it was such a cluster last year.

It says high of 54 now. Funnily enough there is a 4 degree temperature difference between Springfield and DC.
MCM was high 30's/40 at the start and prob in the 40s most of the race. I wore shorts, singlet and my H's socks as arm warmers. I felt great with that combination.
If anyone needs a PIP, i'll gladly share again - those tube socks were HILARIOUS

Now I am questioning my decisions. I was thinking Capri and short sleeves based on the Reston 10 miler two weeks ago (high 50s).
I still think this will be fine. I wore tights and LS last weekend in the 30's at the start (the daily high was in the 60) and didn't over heat. I'm running a later 5k on Saturday (it should already be 50ish), and will go with capris and a tank or SS. I prefer capris unless it is over 60.
Word to the wise - if you wear the arm/sock warmers - be SURE to body glide the inside of your upper arm. Mine started rubbing later in the race on my left arm.

I wore shorts and a long sleeve throw away, that I never tossed, at the Reston 10 miler. I would have been fine with short sleeves, but was concerned about the wind.
So what did everyone decide? I'm still going back and forth between shorts and capris. I ran shorts to my first half and think I spent a lot of energy shivering before the start.
