We're currently on a couple of waiting lists for daycare, but don't love the one that is likely to be the only one with an opening when I go back to work. So we are still somewhat looking. I found out today that the lot they just cleared across from my office is going to be a daycare! Eep! So they won't open till September, and I'll need to start day care in December or January. So that part is great. BUT obviously I can't go tour the place or meet the teachers until they open or shortly before. It's an expansion, though, so they DO have a location open that we could tour... it just wouldn't be the same location we actually use.
Would you consider this? Is it too sight-unseen..?
Yes, I'd consider it, especially if it was a well respected national chain. Tour the sister site. If you're comfortable, and like what you see, get your name on the list for the new site. Then, tour the new site after it opens in September. This way, you'll have your spot, but have an exit opportunity in case something feels off. Congrats! I hope everything works in your favor.
All this. Having a daycare so close to work would be really nice!
