The NJ 18- year-old who sued her parents for financial support has returned home. Parents' lawyer stated that her return is not contingent on any financial considerations.
No word on whether the lawsuit has been or will be dropped.
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley
I have to admit, I kind of feel sorry for her (kind of), because this could have serious repercussions. She claims to have been offered several scholarships from good schools. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those were withdrawn after all this negative publicity.

^o) What about any of this could make you feel sorry for her? She was a royal shithead.

Apparently she really is. The shower I attended on Saturday was in her hometown and the guest-of-honor's sister was a year ahead of her at the same school. She said she's a hot mess and the guest-of-honor's parents bit their tongue when asked about the families involved. And the guest-of-honor's family is very VERY nice.

I said kind of--not a great deal, but it sounds like this girl has a lot of issues and may very well have screwed up her life in ways she can't yet imagine.

Don't worry, I don't feel all that sorry for her.
So if the scholarships are based on merit, then I don't think they have any grounds to take them back if her merit (aka academics) are fine. I would side-eye any school that doesn't realize that a lot of kids sit back and cruise through their last semester when they've already been accepted to university and signed their scholarship papers. Most say, "Need to maintain GPA and present diploma" as far as I remember.
She went on: ‘My father gave me the sense that he was inappropriately affectionate with me. He mentioned frequently that my relationship in his eyes was not one of a daughter, but more than that.
‘In the summer before my senior year he got me drunk at a wedding and said I was his date. He kept giving me shots and mango martinis. I blacked out that night and woke up at the toilet bowl in our room and he was in bed.

Wait, are you saying this was the basis of the "unfounded" family services investigation? So she made this all up? It's so detailed?!

i think that was later in the article when she got caught drinking at her prom and they called her a fucking asshole (i'm assuming).
which is light compared to what my mom did to my sister for that same thing.
