What is your experience with pacifiers? N and N have used them since they were about 6 weeks old. So of course now they are addicted and lately they wake up every hour crying because they have yanked the paci out themselves and they want it back. They use the wubbanubs, which have the stuffed animal on them which kind of helps hold the paci in place so it doesn't fall out so much. But now they are more skilled at pulling in the animal so the whole thing falls out or get flung across their cribs! We're gonna have to quit them cold turkey at some point or else I will keep being up every hour to replace these things. I'm jealous of people whose babies never took to a paci.
We coslept for partially that reason! The girls kept pulling or letting their pacis fall out. Put them in the bed and I didn't have to worry about it! When they were less than a year we started weaning from the pacifier. They were only allowed to have it during naps and bedtime. And then we would take it out of their mouth right before they fell asleep. Eventually, they would lay down in the pnp, and hand us the paci (we called them bobos). After they went without for 3 days, I tossed them all out.
We started putting multiples in her crib so she could find one(hopefully) and we wouldn't have to get up to give it back to her.
M weaned herself shortly after her first birthday, thank goodness. I was not looking forward to that fight. She stopped taking them to fall asleep at home a bit earlier but still used them in the car. She was HORRIBLE in the car w/out one.
I'm one of the people whose baby never took a paci. Not for lack of effort on my part, though...she liked to comfort suck and I tried desperately to get her to take a paci for the sake of my poor boobs. But she wasn't having any of it, which meant for like the first 4 months of her life she spent a good majority of her time either nursing/asking to nurse or screaming her head off.
Life changed when she hit 4 months and discovered she could suck her thumb. Apparently, thumbs are acceptable whereas pacis are definitely not. I was fine with that b/c she could finally soothe herself and I was glad I didn't have the problem you're describing - having to constantly run in there to replace the paci. I mean, she just always had her thumb with her and knew right where to find it. But, I dread the day when we have to break this thumb habit (it's still going strong at almost 2 yrs) for that very reason - IT'S ALWAYS WITH HER. So far our pedi hasn't said anything about forcing her to stop so maybe I'll just let her go till she's old enough for me to bribe her with a pony or something.

T was obsessed with his paci. We put extras in his crib to find another easily which worked in out benefit around 6iah months. He gave up nursing and paci at 15 months on his own within 24 hrs of one another
I'm 2 for 2 for kids who won't take a paci even though I've begged and pleaded for them to. Sorry no help. Amelia sucked on her blanket or her fingers and she still does. She's a nail biter just like her mama. Ben is either nursing or rooting 24/7.
Zoe loved hers, Jack never took to them. We never had the issue with her waking up every hour if it fell out. She started STTN at a very early age. We were lucky! Not so much with jack, lol! I'm kinda glad he never took a paci. I don't think he could've quit it as easily as Zoe did!
Macy is a hardcore thumb sucker, was in the womb and still is at 4 years. We are trying to break her if te habit but its not going well.
Brit lived the paci and he never was any where with out it up until 4 weeks ago and then he quit cold turkey. Coincidentally that's when he quit sleeping through the night do I wish he would pick his paci habit back up, lol. He's kinda starting to suck his thumb but he's not as intent on it as his sister was/is. IdK, he has trouble soothing himself
Neither of mine took a paci, well, Hudson did for a little while, but it didn't stick. He was/is an obsessive boob monster and up until a month ago would wake up multiple times a night (we're talking 6+) and would only nurse/comfort suck back to sleep. Thankfully he learned how to soothe himself back to sleep and while he still eats 2-3 times a night, its a lot better than it was.

Kim, glad to hear Hudson isn't monopolizing the boob so much at night now. Did you do anything to get him to soothe himself to sleep or did he learn to do it on his own? Mine need to be able to put themselves back to sleep...
