I didn't do anything today. I had a GREAT short (3.25 mile) run yesterday - fasted time I've had in a while, felt great, etc. I took today off because I would have had to run on the treadmill and I knew that would have sucked and I didn't want my last pre-race run to be a sucky one. Tomorrow I'm thinking just an easy 30 on the elliptical. Would it be stupid to do an upper body weights workout? What should I do Saturday? Nothing? I honestly can't remember what I did in October . . .
REST. Holy crap rest! The hay is in the barn! Stable those horses and rest up before the race! If you need to do anything go for a nice walk and enjoy yourself. But don't push it this close to the race.
Soooo, what I hear you saying is, "calm the f*** down and rest"?

My race is Saturday. I went for an easy run Tuesday evening. Did my strength training y'day and did some cross training this morning. Tomorrow I'm off completely (other than walking around VA Beach and hitting the expo)
Just take it easy! The runs on the schedule this week only serve to keep you loose...running on the TM isn't really going to be that beneficial.
If you do anything, I think it should be a super easy 1-2 miles just to keep your legs loose.
ETA: To answer your actual question, I always rest 3 days out, do an easy 2-3 miles 2 days out, and rest the day before a half or a full. Something a little faster than recovery pace but not much.
I'd sit on my butt and eat a bunch of carbs. Training is over, time to prep for the race!
This is totally my style.
I am running a half on Sunday. I ran 4 Tuesday and 2 slow miles today. I'm also "running" an 8k on Saturday but I am walking at least 2 miles of it, and if I do run it will be slow and easy.
I prefer to run a few miles 2 days out and rest the day before. The training is done, but if I take 3 rest days in a row I'd be a bit stiff. I skip the weights on race week.
