I know we have lots of half marathoners this w/e! Who is racing? How are you feeling?
I have a Shamrock 5k. It's my peak mileage week and I haven't been doing any short distance race work, so my only goals are to get in some fast miles and have fun.
Me!! I have my 15k. I'm not feeling so great, but I know I should still PR. I traveled all week, and had no time to run, so I just have that bloated, gross, sluggish feeling. Oh well. I almost wish I was just spectating (both Amy Hastings and Shalane are racing it!), but it's always a fun race, so I'm still looking forward to it.
Me! I have my first 1/2 marathon on Sunday, the Germantown Half Marathon. This is my replacement "first half" since St.Jude was cancelled in December. I don't think I'll do as well as I would have in December--my training has been somewhat lackluster this go around. I let the cold f with my head too much. I was sick last weekend and the beginning of this week, so my training runs have been rough. I'm planning to incorporate more walk/run intervals than I had planned for St.Jude. Right now I'm leaning towards 90 seconds when I reach every mile marker; I'll add in another 90 seconds at the 1/2 mile point if needed. This worked well 4 years ago for my first 5k--in fact, that 5k is still my best time, ha!
The only thing I'm worried about is the weather...70% chance of rain

I'm doing the RNR half tomorrow too. I still have a bit of a cold, but am looking forward to it. I'm running with a few colleagues with the goal of just finishing and enjoying it (vs trying to get anywhere close to a PR). It should be fun!
First 10k on Sunday, the St. Patrick's Day Run. It's supposed to be 14 degrees, and I haven't run outside in a couple months. I'm trying to psych myself up for it, but I'm a bit nervous
Shamrock-themed half here! It's my 2nd, and I should easily PR, since I was only meh trained and had bronchitis for my first. Ha. Should be a good day! I actually have friends doing this race, my parents are coming down to cheer me on and help wrangle the 2 year old so MH can cheer me on, and there's beer and massages at the finish party.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
