There is a 90% chance of rain (up from 70% this morning--ugh!); low of 31, high of 59. The race starts at 7:30 AM.
My original outfit plan was crops + a tank. Now I'm thinking of doing the same + a hat + a poncho or lighweight longsleeved shirt--any thoughts? smartwool socks.
I'm also concerned about my phone. I need it for music--def. necessary, as there isn't a lot of crowd support in this race. I have an armband that says it is waterproof, but I haven't really tested it. Any tips/tricks?
I put my iPod in a plastic baggy if I am running in the rain for added protection. I'm too much of a chicken to run with my iPhone when it is raining.
As far as dressing goes I wouldn't want to run with a poncho, I'd probably wear some kind of top layer and toss it. Once you are soaked you just have to embrace the rain.

Bring a garbage bag to keep keep dry at the start, then tear off and throw away when you start to run. I'd wear capris, a tank and probably a thin long sleeve tech shirt that I could tie around my waist or toss. Visor or hat to keep ran out of your eyes and a ziplock baggie for your phone. And lots of BodyGlide on your feet and anywhere else that will rub.
Thanks--I think I have a long sleeved tech shirt I can sacrifice. I do have a light weight athletic rain jacket as well. I'll try the ziplock baggie for my phone.
